I was curious, on how you use a spread.
For example, this spread I saw by MoonDreamer I think. I actually saw it in this use, spread, and meanings by mooncat2
..............9.....10.................
1..2........5.......6........3....4
..............7.......8................
1 & 2.......What are you moving away from
3 & 4.......What are you moving towards
5 & 6.......Things to consider before taking action
7 & 8........Reasons why you need to move on
9 & 10......Outcome
So first, I would shuffle my deck (after I do my optional cleaning, etc, and any other preparations)
Then, I would lay my cards out like that.
First question: After shuffling, do I use the top card of the deck and put it on #1. Then I use the top card of the deck, and put it on #2, and so on and so forth? Or, does it matter in which order I place the cards, and/or, where I draw them from the deck.
After that, I take it I reveal all the cards? And do I start at #1 and move on to #10?
Thanks in advance

Hello. I am close to your age ( I am 15) so, this is coming from someone your age (almost). BTW, you have a Private Message. Anyway, you might want to do a three card spread if you are a newcomer. Do one like this:
1--2--3
1-Your Past
2-Your Present
3-Your Future
Shuffle your deck, cut it, however you chose to do it. Then, place a card in the first position. You can pick from ANY where in the deck, or off the top. Then do the same for cards 2 and 3. You can place them face up or down, and turn them over after you have them all down.
What deck are you using? This might help in knowing if you must use Elemental Dignities (with the Thoth) or Reversals (with Rider-Waits).

Right now Im still waiting for my Fantastical Deck to come in.
It either uses or doesn't use Reversals, I belive it does.
I highly doubt Elemental Dignities.
:p Thanks for the info too

Hi Maly,
You may use any system you think is best when laying down the cards.
The same applies to any kind of procedures when it comes to tarot - from shuffling to using reversals or EDs, etc.
There is no right or wrong, but what you believe is right.
I only suggest you to commit to your standards and follow them through. It helps avoiding confusion in the future.
best wishes
