How do the Air signs ground themselves? I use the King Queen and Knight as Aquarius, Libra and Gemini.
Do they have to be mentally focused on something to feel relaxed or grounded.
Water, fire and earth I think could feel the grounding within themselves but what about the Air?
This is probably a simple question but you know I'm having a day when I can't figure this out.
Air people work with their minds.
Air is free and open so how do these people feel? Do they think about it first?
Just trying to understand the air idea. No offence to anyone.

Hi Dadsnook,
Interesting question. I'm curious to see the replies.
I'm a Sun Sign Aquarius with a Virgo rising.
And I can get quite "mental". Interestingly what grounds me is Breath. A few deep breaths brings me back to the body and feeling centered. Also physical activity....once grounded I can't get enough of it:)

As a Libra who lives in her head a lot, I agree with EminemsAB--I ground by focusing attention within my body via breath or movement. Hard biking is a good combination of the two to make me sweat and pant--no space for airy detachment then!

This is a strange coincidence because I am an air sign (Aquarius). This week, when my friend came, I asked her to read me about me and my brother. The card that came up as me was "The Intellect". Geometric forms were drawn on the card, representing one of those labyrinthe garden from above. The card as my brother was "The Sea". The deep end of the ocean was drawn on the card. And my brother is Scorpio, a water sign. The reading said that I didn't understand my brother at all. Truth is, I've never understood my brother at all. I felt nervous and uneasy looking at his card. My brother had never undertood me either.
You're asking strange questions, are you an air sign yourself or trying to understand one?
How do the Air signs ground themselves? Do they have to be mentally focused on something to feel relaxed or grounded.
I think about so many things at once, that meditation, grouding and other methods are very difficult for me. I can't even really answer to these questions. I've succedded once or twice to not think at all and it was great, but very tough to achieve.
Air is free and open so how do these people feel? Do they think about it first?
The mind usually comes first, and the heart a week later. It's not that they're heartless, let's just say that emotions give them the nervousness and uneasyness I felt looking at The Sea card. It's a complete unknown territory and they don't handle it well. Air signs are more sensitive than they look. Because they don't handle their emotions well, it doesn't take much to hurt them and upset them, so usually they use their intellect to defend themselves and put some distance between them and the world. Once that is done, hurting them, or touching them, getting close to them, become quite much more difficult. They keep everyone and everything at an arm's length. I also think that they need more time than the others to deal with emotionnal issues, because it's so touchy for them, even though they act fast and think about things the others are not thinking about, during the tough times. They look so much in control on the outside, and heartless, but they need the time because they can't deal with this right now, in front of everyone. So yes, the mind usually comes first, and the heart a week later, because they need that week madly.

I'm a double air person, aquarius sun and gemini moon and I must admit I have a tendancy to float away on brightly coloured clouds of inspiration and ideas on a regular basis!
I've often found grounding difficult. For example; after attending any sort of psychic/spirituality focused seminar, I will be the one left feeling lightheaded and a little drained the next day while others are refreshed and motivated.
My mantra for a long time now has been "when I can do nothing else, all I need to remember is to breathe", and it is quite exciting to read other people's replies and see that my fellow airy people also use breath as their grounding tool.
Having got more and more involved in working psychically, its becoming a point of necesity for me that I develop proper and workable grounding tecniques. I've found that I am good at visualisation, all that air is bound to be good for the immagination :) So, what I tend to do now is to imagin a tall, sturdy oak tree. I start at the top of the tree and visualise the branches swaying gently in the breeze. Then I travel down the tree, visualising the trunk and the roots. I imagine that the roots go all the way down into the core of the earth, and I follow them there in my mind. Once I have pictured the roots firmly anchored to the core of the earth I open my eyes.
This method of grounding works very well for me and I am no longer getting headaches and feeling sleepy after working psychically.
WolfyJames, your desciption of air signs realy hit the spot. I sometimes feel like a brontosurus- tred on my tail today and two weeks later I will say "ouch" :D
