change of system

Then~ Shuffle make 3 piles put piles back into one spread cards pick # of cards for reading lay out in spread and read This was my same old same old. Now~ Shuffle make 3 piles take middle pile & do the reading from top card in order look at bottom cards Do you think this is being lazy OR does your "system" change as your thoughts do?

ros, my system is silly, lol. I shuffle until it feels "right" I then spread the cards in a fan shape in my right hand Then I close my eyes Then I hover about with my left hand until it feels "right" Then I say the spread position of the card I am choosing Followed by more hovering and more waiting for it to be "right" Then I pick a card Repeated for as many cards as spread requires Usually having my eyes shut and trying to hold all the cards at once means that several fall on the floor. I'm sure my cat thinks this is a game I've invented purely for his amusement. If I'm reading for someone else, they do the shuffling, but I still do all the hovering and squinting. I relay dont know how I've ended up with such a convoluted method, but I think its time for a change :D Maybe I should just shuffle and take cards from the top....oh but I'm superstitious and it might not work...ok, for an experiement, I'm going to try it! Will report back :D

I guess that I am just too plain or logical... Shuffle however many times, gometimes I cut, sometimes not Deal from top, either hand...

CharmingPixie-- I frequently use the same method as you-- except I fan the cards out on my table. They rarely fall off it :laugh: fly well Raven

I have done it the way you used to ros, but now the method I use is more like CharmingPixie's. I fan the cards, and hover my left hand over them and use reiki to choose the cards for me. I thinks it's ok to change methods, decks etc otherwise it can become too routine like you are just going through the motions.

I have two different systems that work really well for me. 1. When I'm doing an informal reading on myself, that is a three card or five card spread, I just shuffle and let the question run continuesly through my mind. After a few minutes cards start to pop out and I use those for the reading. This works really well and hasn't steered me wrong yet. 2. When I'm doing larger more complex spreads than just the 3 or 5 card, I shuffle until it feels right and then I pull cards off the top, bottom or the middle, where ever it feels right. I never read for other people, because I don't like people touching my decks. So this works just fine for me.

I do change "system" every time I do a reading - for me, or someone else. I shufle until it feels right, and then 1. cut cards and take from middle or lower pile cards from top 2. make fan and take a card for each position in spread 3. cut cards in three piles and take the upper three cards. Though I decide how I will deal cards during shufling, I always decide for spread BEFORE I start to shufle.
