meanings help

hi I'm new to this and have a question about if there are meanings in having more than 2 or 3 major archana??? my friend asked me and I have no clue he has 8 major archana in his reading is there a signifiacance?? if you need to know the cards I'll repost with them thank you jeb_myst

on a very basic level, I would say that indicates something BIG happening

Was this a new deck? Did the cards fall in close sequence? If this was the case, and it was the first spread from the deck, I would reshuffle and spread again. Now, if is not the case then I would say that this was a powerful reading. (This might have been posted in the Tarot Readings board for more attention.)--Tao

When I first started reading, I was told that majors mean major upheaval in ones life that one can't control-like weather, flood, earthquakes, not necessarily that negative, but you don't control it (maybe a company merger, or something), while minors are things you do and others do to you. It sounds like, either Tao51 is right, and the deck wasn't mixed well, or this person has a lot of stuff going on that he/she can't do anything about right now except wait it out. It depends on the question asked, as to what I would say about this outcome, except wait and see. I remember when I was learning to do the celtic cross , someone had mostly majors in the cross part (cards 1-6) and minors in the staff (cards 7-10) so mainly it was out of his hands but he was worried a lot about things! For this reading, I would look at each card individually and see what is happening, don't get too worried about the significance of a lot of one type until you have a general idea of the answer.
