(this is the knave isn't it?)
anyway, I've just had this card in a daily tarot reading:
part of what it says is: Robbing the cradle may boost ego, but it can affect others.
does this mean having a relationship with someone young enough to be your own child?????
don't fancy that!!!.

Hi Katie
If that is how you see it, then there is a possibility. What does the picture look like and from which deck? Does that shed any light or give any clues. I must say that that is a strange interpretation to the Page - not one I have heard before.
Look forward to hearing back and unravelling the Page's mystery.

I've read this interpretation before, and its rung quite true for me.
Phyllis Vega describes him as the "young/youthful admirer of an older woman"

I've never heard of that one but you never know one day it may fit - which book gave that interpretation, I'm going to store that one away for future use :)
I think The Page of Cups may signify emotional or intuitive beginnings. The Pages are represented by the Earth element which would make the Page of Cups Earth of Water - someone who lilkes to make their dreams reality - in many decks which use Princesses instead of Pages the Princess is pregnant :).
This Page can also represent someone who has the qualities of a very dreamy child - my daughter, Indi (who just happens to be a Picies) is a typical Page of Cups :) She's sensitive, creative, loves stories and has a very active imagination - shout at her or tell her off for anything and it's as if her world has collapsed around her.
Thats part of my take - I'm sure you'll get some really good answers here - I'm looking forward to them :)
Love
Sulis xx

Don't think I have come across that one ... thanks Eastarot for that; will be looking at that Page in a different way now; especially, if he gets surrounded by a few of those queens.
Tried to look for a pic of the card but couldn't find one'; anybody got one? I am curious now.
Sorry I havn't been much help Katie! What else did the LWB say, other than what you mentioned here? How do you feel about the card when you look at it, separating yourself from the LWB?
Look forward to continuing the discussion.
Best wishes

Knave of Chalices
A new relationship or level of confidence could develop, be initiated, born, or renewed soon, but immaturity, selfishness, idealism, alcohol, miscommunication, expectations, or insecurity could cloud judgment, lead to dalliance, overindulgence, or hurt. It could be time to face certain truths that naiveté, seduction, ignorance, or heartbreak, have been keeping you from dealing with until now. Learn to trust your own intuition in matters of the heart, and be prepared for apologies, or to "get over it." Robbing the cradle may boost ego, but it can affect others.
As I've said before, I'm new to tarot, and I make use of those free websites that give explanations, so I can learn more. :) (ever the student!!!!)
I got it from Tarot.com and I've pasted this from the bottom

I am glad that you are learning; it's fun, isn't it? Good to take information from different sourses and develop your own understanding of the card.
Was just wondering, looking at the image, how that page fits into your day. Look forward to hearing your responses. Maybe it is not so much that you would find somebody with an age that could be that of your son, but maybe someone close to you emotionally may be behaving a little imaturely; maybe the 'young vibe' you get from someone may be attractive to you and not necessarily a reflection of their age. Also, possibly, the fun that you are having with the tarot, could be represented by the 'newness and excitement' of the student - that enjoyment you are having through finding out new things, connecting with your deck on an emotional and spiritual level.
Best wishes and good luck with your journey.

Hehe. I had a reading done for me about 18 months ago and the reader said he thought I was the Page of Cups in the spread. I wondered why at the time... but this description seems to fit me - except I'm a Virgo and not a Pisces! (but I guess the earth element fits) and I'm always striving to make my dreams a reality...
katie's latest post also rings true - It could be time to face certain truths that naiveté, seduction, ignorance, or heartbreak, have been keeping you from dealing with until now. Learn to trust your own intuition in matters of the heart, and be prepared for apologies, or to "get over it."
There are some home truths here - interesting to show that much more lies beneath the the Page of Cups - beyond the first impressions of youth, emotions and intuition.
Thanks for sharing this, katie! It's interesting, as from my own experience, interpreting the pages/knaves is typically quite difficult. This kind of thread always helps.

Absolutely! It is also nice to have a thread about a card which is not 'deck specific'; just the essense of that character/card.
Thanks for starting this one, Katie. The Cup page has always been a favourite of mine, and truely, is difficult to interpret.

the page of cups is the shy, quiet archetype. many people you meet are shy and quiet at first. they are hiding their true form. so this card calls into question the true nature of the person represented by the page. who you dont get to know until you get to know the person. this page is said to have a peter pan quality. its really someone being someone else. as an actual person, there arent really many natural page of cups.
they are often soft spoken, meek. every one ive ever met had bright glossy eyes, and a kind of childlike innocence. the page can be a man, seducing a woman, since he becomes someone else to do so. or can be a woman seducing a man. can also be someone having hallucinations

I can relate to all of this in in the recent past. Immaturity, selfishness alcohol were his faults, miscommunication, (or lack of proper communication) both of us, high expections were mine, and I think to some extent naivete.
We have never discussed what happened, neither of us is talking to the other at the moment, although I have been face to face with him, nothing was said by either of us. I'm prepared for an apology if he wants to give me one, but I'm trying to "get over it".
still haven't found a cradle to snatch though!!!!!!! :P

Funny, because I usually identify with the Page of Cups, but I'm a Virgo as well. (I never did fit the Virgo personality type very well, though - I have a few of the characteristics, but those are the parts of myself that I don't like - part of my shadow side, if you will. I think I fit the description of Pisces much better... or perhaps Cancer.)
