Swords... Fire, Air, Water or Earth?

Given the number of threads in the recent past, I thought it would be interesting to cast a poll to see individual preferences. For the ease of reference, I have limited the poll to Swords, and have cast a 365-day limit for voting. I have also limited the possible answers to the four elements, even though some of us prefer to avoid direct elemental attribution. Voting is thereby by default restricted to those who do have a preferred elemental attribution. So... where do we stand as a community? Of course, even were we to all vote the same, this indicates not correctness, but rather preference....

I voted Swords=Air. I find this one the most difficult to explain; wands=fire because of the energy and enthusiasm cups=water because that seems to fit emotion coin=earth for the solid, material aspect so sword=air because that is the one that is left :D This way looks logical to me, but it is also what I am used to.

I voted swords=air: 1. partly because, like WolfSpirit, the other suits seem more suited to their elements and 2. partly because I associate swords with intellect and thoughts, and we so often use them as weapons against ourselves and others. I see wands as action, associated with fire as a phenomenon with many "actionable" uses.

Voted for Swords as Air. Swords seems naturally suited to the mental realm of intellect--keeness, cutting edge, clarity, detachment. An association of many years. Wands seems expressive of spirit & life; the spark that begins life; inspiration & creativity.

I tried to vote Swords = Air, but for some reason, it wouldn't allow me to do so. (?) Swords = Air, for the same reasons as the ones stated by MeeWah. :)

Something weird happened when I voted ... After clicking the Vote button, I was transported to the Competitions thread poll by Solandia ... very strange Anyway, my vote was for Swords as Air. Because mental clarity is required when fencing and otherwise using a sword effectively.

Hi all, I also tried to vote for Sword = Air but I got the message that said I didn't have the rights to vote. I left and read some other thread and then came back and tried again. I still can't vote. Strange.

[note about the thread i suspect that two polls may have been created at the same time, one in the subscriber section of the forums (not about swords). as a result, there [i]may[/i] have been an incorrect link to the poll... If Solandia cannot fix it when she has the time, I may delete this thread and re-port it anew... we'll see. Please do mention if further problems arise... and what kind, as it may help in figuring out what has happened. ... please note that I'll delete this post when things are sorted out]
