I'm curious...do any of you have dreams where Tarot cards appear? Either in the context of doing/getting a reading, or in some other way?

I had a dream last night, where I was looking for something, and found an Empress card. For me, I'm sure it's just my sub-conscious coming through loud and clear -- I'd really like to get married and have a family, and have been thinking about that a lot lately, and always hope to have that card come up in my spreads. :)

Have any of you had similar experiences with other cards, or maybe dream about a reading that you gave to someone?

I sometimes pick a card to dream about but one time I did not get much sleep as I was way into the card and I had the strangest dreams throughout the night. Even my cats left the bed as I tossed and turned too much. Now I do it on Friday or Saturday when I have another day to catnap if needed.

I think the card above was Judgement from the Rider-Waite deck but I don't remember all the dreams -- confused and mixed about with many topics.

I haven't had dreams about cards yet, but I notice that when I read in the evening I'm more likely to have memorable dreams. I actually got into tarot because I saw it as similar to reading dreams, so eventually I want to start reading Jung and get the Jungian Tarot. :)

Just last nite,as a matter of fact, I dreamed of a totally faceless...
well...white make-up/or paint on t/face,but no expression ... Emporer with a boa constricter draped & resting 'oer his neck. (I got the impression in t/dream he was searching 4-the Empress...)
Many years ago, when I was reading on: how to journey into the cards, I dreamed a very old-fashioned (but regal, nonetheless)
Magician raised a Huge window to gain access into my room to
invite me to come enter into his card. At this point,I woke & was
Soo disappointed to find it had been a dream,& if I hadn't been So
sleepy @ 3am wouldv'e tried "entry" into that card, anyhoo!
(I still sometimes kick my *** by not rousing myself, for I wonder @ t/chance I may have missed out on!)
Other instances are just brief glimpes of large images of just the faces of mainly a random "Who's Who" (lol!) of various
Major Arcana...(HP, Hermit, Many different Moon versions, etc.)They make an individual appearance(at random, & when & where-ever)Just Long Enough 4 me to recognize them, & poof! they are gone, but I thank each & every one of them for dropping by...because,I feel, somehow after all of these "appearences", that I've had an
actual, special moment with them. (I can't put it into words even,
guess it's more of a more personal,"Kodak" moment thingie,) lol !!!

I often dream of shopping for Tarot cards! Usually, I don't have enough money for them, though.

I used to manage the cheese department of the local natural foods store. One night I dreamed that I was turning cards from the Robin Wood over one by one, and I turned over one that I had never seen before. It was called the Five of Parmesan. The image showed five bowls of grated parmesan cheese hovering in the air. In the foreground, a woman was turning away from the cheese, with her hands held up in a warding gesture, and an expression of deep dismay. I was shocked to see that she had my face.

I woke up and thought, "I really need to quit my job..." :D

I've also dreamed of finding tarot decks in antique stores, at rummage sales, or in rooms I didn't know were in my house... sometimes the cards are amazing and beautiful, but I can't remember them well enough when I wake to sketch them. :(

The following is an excerpt from this thread, also called Tarot Dreams but was years ago, shortly after I joined this site.

It was only in hindsight that I came to understand how profound a dream it really was.

Quote:

Last night I dreamed that I was shuffling my cards and found a new card in the major arcana.

Oh my god, I pulled it out to look at it, and thought how could I have missed a card for so long like this?

The card was Love (not the Lovers), and I vaguely remember how the illustrations looked. I wanted to take note of the card's number, and now it's hard to remember upon waking, something like 6,7 or 8 (I remember the V and a I or II (?) after it).

Strange, but I just thought I'd relate it. I've dreamt of cards before, but never a new arcana card!!!

How funny...I came on here to post a very similar question/statement. I was having trouble figuring out what forum I was supposed to be in (remember I'm new here!) :) when I stumbled on this post.

I find that when I am in the "tarot groove", my dreams become much more vivid and even prophetic. (for lack of a better word to describe the awareness level). I have never slept with a deck under my pillow or even in the same room! But I think I may try it now after reading the old thread Alissa posted! BTW, Alissa...are you going to share with us what the dream really meant??? hmmm

I dream of cards and their meanings/archetypes often, and I love it! I have dreamt of doing readings just like I was truly doing them. Very helpful indeed ;)

I'm working on my deck-- long time coming...

Right now I'm trying to get a better understanding of the courts. A few nights ago, after setting out the courts from the caselli-sharman (or the other way around) and spending about an hour in contemplation, I had a 'visitation' from the king of cups.

I can't remember any real concrete conversation, but things are a bit clearer with the courts...

Off to the drawing board soon.
