Aren't you afraid to be unable to provide a helpful advice to someone during a casual conversation if you have not used your Tarot cards? or the Tarot experience had given you enough knowledge of the human nature so beign able to advice at any moment?
In my case beign a guy, women in general do not ask me about their problems but if they see me as a reader, they will ask about everything! I don't know if I would be able to say the right things without the help of the cards, and that is a little bit scary for me because they are supposed only to be a tool...
Edited to correct typing mistake.

honestly, we dont need the cards for anything except personal growth. but when someone asks for your help, just try to put yourself in their place. i watched this made for tv movie the other day, it was called merlin. when the sorceress maab showed the young merlin what the old merlin would look like, the young merlin asked "will i grow very old?" the old merlin replied "have a care, young merlin" then the old merlin said "stay as young inside as you are now, and never start giving advice."

I encounter this at workplace during casual conversation with both the male & female co-workers. Sometimes they just need a "sounding board", someone to talk to but not necessarily to provide advice. I do not need the cards to listen. & that is largely what I do as a reader, listen. In the process of talking, they can moreorless come to their own conclusions.
At other times, I am still able to advise without the cards based on impressions of their person & their situation.
The cards can aid the focus &/or inspire ideas; encourage another view, but do not of themselves provide "an answer" or solution. Though a reader may serve as a guide through the cards, the decision or means lies within the querent.

:) This is a brilliant statement, from a therapeutic stand point. The same type of approach is held in most psychotherapy lines or schools.
Suggestion for action can be dangerous since everyone has its own way and time for addressing different circunstances.
The real and effective counseling is the one in which the counselour helps the client (or querent) to find his/her own way out, becoming able to address the issue by him/herself.

If I can't give constructive advice (which is most of the time!) I just try to be honest and upfront about it.
It's more important to me that people know I'm listening and trying to empathise.
