How people came to first start practicing the tarot?

Hello everybody I was just wondering how everybody came to know and learn to read the tarot. My first experience with the tarot was about a year ago. I was seeing this guy and he was into the tarot and I worked with him. He never knew that I have always had an interest in the tarot but never really explored it. So it was my birthday and he bought me a present and I don't know how I knew but before I even opened the gift I knew it was a tarot deck. He asked me if I would be interested in learning the tarot and of course I was so he tought me alittle. It was very interesting and enlightening to me. We broke up about 2 months after that and I just really lost interest in the tarot but about a month ago something made me pick up my deck again and start reading and since then I have been really into it and am interested in taking my learnings so much deeper. Just a little story on how I started reading the tarot. I would love to hear others stories on how they first came to read. Julie
