Most stand out tarot moment.....

With all the discoveries I find while exploring the realm of tarot, find that some of them really stick with me. I have talked about most of them here on ATF in other places.

The most stand out tarot moment for me was when I had decided which deck I was going to use to do a reading for Mimers. I was on mIRC with a couple of other ATF members having a nice chat. While sitting there I was shuffling the cards. I was not shuffling them in preparation for the reading, just shuffling, watching the conversation with mIRC...... and thinking about situations going on in my life.

I usually avoid doing readings for myself, and at this particular time I was staying far away from what the cards had to say to me......when suddenly, some of the cards fell from the deck and landed on me feet. I knew I was in trouble as soon as I started looking down, so I could pick them up........and there it was. All the cards were face down except for two of them.

Damn IT! Even when I was totally avoiding a reading, the cards still found a way to talk to me.........

So what is YOUR most stand out tarot moment???

Actually, I have two.

The first was the first time I joined the Mass. Tarot Circle and met SongDeva. After years and years of wanting to learn to read properly, I felt things starting to come together (plus a direct result of these Circle gatherings was eventually meeting Gardener).

The second was on the first day I read professionally. As the day went on, I found my confidence and ability growing and growing. The next to last reading I did was for an infant, and her father was a Psychic Healer. It was definitely a turning point in my spiritual awareness. On the last reading of the day I felt a strong psychic connection with the Seeker and she was in tears by the end of the reading.

My most profound tarot moment is still very confusing and private, but:

The most touching tarot moment I have ever read, was in a book called a magical course in tarot. The writer had bonded with her friend's child, a very bright little girl. The girl's mother was concerned about her baby, and she asked the writer to read the cards for her daughter. The writer drew four cards, turned them over, and revealed the four aces. It was a very dramatic moment, and very sweet to read about.

My moment was when I was first reading for others about 5 years ago in high school, when one of my fellow students who'd I'd known since the first grade basically asked me about two guys in her life. One she really liked, and seemed really nice to her, the other she said seemed interested but didn't say anything. I Told her the one she liked more was really an ass, he was just trying to sleep with her, and the quiet one's really nice, go with him, he's just shy. She told me I was wrong.
Five days passed. The one she liked was about to move, and was just looking to sleep with someone before he left. Because of my warning, she didn't sleep with him and he got pissed off at her and that was it.
The other guy took her to a nice restraunt, after stuttering when he asked her.
She offered to pay me, I declined. She told everyone she knew, and helped fund me when I got about $10 worth of quarters and called Cleo from a pay phone in the school, where Cleo promply told me I was a balding middle aged lawyer, my wife was cheating on me, I was due for a pay raise, and my daughter was dating some guy with a mohawk.
Ahh, good times, good times.

The stand-out moments are really those when I have been able to interpret the Tarot in such a manner that it transforms the querent's life.

Like someone who contacted me for a very disastrous love-life. All the relationships up ended badly and after a very short time. Very depressing, considering that the querent was a very lovely, sincere and kind person. The Tarot gave me an answer, which I relayed. And the results were so impressive, even I found it hard to believe, although I had seen the cards with my own eyes.

Those moments when you know that you have TRULY helped someone by listening to the Tarot, are the stand-out ones for me.

sound familiars!

I have a few as well but I think one of the most amazing and unforgettable was in the summer of 98.

At the start of the year I had left an abusive relationship. I had been 'surviving' as best as I could and was doing alright with what I had available. Life was good in that respect. But the heart was sad and torn and scared as hell.
Then spring rolled in and I met Paul. I was afraid to love this amazing & gentle person because of my past.
I would ask him almost everyday, "what are your intentions?"
(I asked the 'others' that too and they just stumbled over thier words). Paul's response was quick and could be understood.
"All Honorable"
The days and weeks went by before I got my deck out, when I did I spread the deck out in a long line, face down and asked him to pick one. He waved his hand low and slow over the cards. In the very same manner that I do time to time- he was feeling which one to pick.
Paul picked a card and flipped it over~ HONOR
My legs went weak and I had a hugh smile on my face, I think I even let out a little shriek.......
It does not end there.
In the winter of 98, I was once again single and sad. Paul did not break my heart, he was truely honorable. But my heart was broken because Paul was missing, a possible victim of foul play.
I had lost my love. I sat all alone in a big house and was missing him. I was troubled that there had not been "something from the other side" that I could feel. So I got out my cards- same deck, at the time it was my only one.
I had no question for the cards. This was not to be a reading- I spoke to Paul, told him that I missed talking with him, and that no 'communication' was being recieved on my end and that all I wanted was to talk to me, just talk to me.
I picked five cards because we where born exactly five days apart and his b-day was the 5th.

the first card I picked of the five cards- you guessed it ~ HONOR!

Mine isn't as amazing as lunalafey's, but it was probably the deciding factor in my starting to read for others.

One of my co-workers was going through a really hard time, and she asked me to answer a yes or no question for her. I went home and pulled a card - ended up being compelled to pull two.

I came back and told her that she was going to be going through the most difficult time in her life. All the things she'd been afraid of, and worried about would happen. BUT, she absolutely had the resources to get through it, and when the cycle ended (and she would know when it did) she would end up better off in all respects.

She came in a while later (she retired - that was just one of the many things) and told me that I had been exactly right. And she looked about 20 years younger than when I'd last seen her. It made me realize how much of a difference we make sometimes. :)
