New York City Tarot and Mysticism

Yellow, I am from Milwaukee originally, and going to New Mexico for college next semester. Currently I'm in Harlem, NYC, visiting my dad, and soon I will be going to Phoenix, AZ to visit my mom and drive to my cousins wedding with her out in Oakland, CA. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as far as Tarot and general Mysticism events, activities, stores, or whatever you can think of thats going on. This is a summer of travels and change for me, someone wrote to me the other day that "Tarot is not the Journey, but will help you along your path," or something similar. This has been quite the physical journey, but in so being creates a spiritual, emotional, and mental journey. I would definitely like to meet up with some enthusiasts and share ideas or get some suggestions. I don't know anything about New York's mysticism facilities or what have you other than a bookstore I found the other day that I can't remember the location of and a Theosophy Lodge that some one told me about. Help! Kid

Hi KidCatheter, The Quest Book Store is a great place to check out It is at 230 E 53 between 2nd and 3rd Ave 212-758-5521 There is another great store if I could only remember the name....it's in the village. I will get back to you with it. The Quest bookstore has a library upstairs that has a great selection of books. They also are the location of the NY Theosophical Society which has pleanty of workshops and classes. You should also check out the Tarot School. Here is the link. edited to add: Ok, the other store I was thinking of was EastWest Books at 78 5th Ave near 14th st. 212-243-5994 They have a lot of Tarot decks there too.
