Yay, I've just re-enrolled.
I took this class the last time it was offered, and LOVED it. There's a wide range of experience among the students, from people who are taking it for the first time and are new to Tarot, through people who've taken the course multiple times and are very familiar with Tarot.
Advice to anyone who's signing up for the first time: read the student introductions a bit at a time. The first week or two, there are TONS of posts to the Student Introductions area.
Allot some time for the intros, and the rest of the time for reading the course work, and you'll be able to pace yourself well. Eventually the Student Introductions area quiets down and you can spend more time focusing on the posts in the coursework area.
I speak from experience, after trying to read intro after intro and feeling for a while like I'd NEVER get through them all. ;)

I had an excellent experience in the last session also. I learned a lot. People were very generous with their time and resources. There were many great links posted, including this forum!
And the format of the B&N classes are very stress-free. I took the Zen class this month and I didn't make it through the entire book, but it will be offered again in November, so I'll pick up where I left off then, and maybe work on it during the "break."
This time I am also taking the Beginner's French class and the Dream class. Maybe too much, but again, low stress!

I think I've overdone it this time. I've signed up for three classes: French, Dreams and Tarot.
Why do I always do that?
hmm... maybe I should do a reading on that!

I enrolled in it. Maybe it will help me a bit more to be able to read with the RWS. Until now, I haven't got much success except a bit with clones like the Halloween tarot.
Maybe I am way too much influenced by the theme of the deck...

I took the BNU class in February, and it was VERY helpful for me. There is SO MUCH information in Joan's book, which I bought specifically for the class....and there is a lot more reading you can do afterward which is not covered in the coursework. I especially loved the lesson on journaling....those of you taking this course might want to check out some threads here on tarot journals that will give you some ideas and inspiration as you develop your own journals. I will do a search and post some links here if anyone is interested....FUN stuff!!! :D
Best of luck to everyone....I think you are really going to enjoy this experience....

I've signed up, too. I thought the dicipline of a class would be good for me. For one thing, it will make me use my RWS deck. I respect the deck for its contribution to the development of tarot, but I don't particularly like it.

I never liked the original Rider-Waite deck either, so when I signed up for this class I bought the Radiant RW, and for me the coloration made all the difference....I made an instant connection with the deck. I also like the colors of the Universal Waite.....just personal preference.
