I realize because of a quick & soon family trip that there's a few cards I would delight in having this week, and some which would make me less happy to work around.
For instance, Temperance or Ten of Pentacles would be enjoyable. I would associate this with family in a friendly way.
On the other hand, Tower or Five of Pentacles would make me pause. I would associate this with family concerns and the sad events we have been recovering from.
I noticed that I assigned Rider Waite style meanings to the above cards in my example.
Do you have thoughts for yourself what cards bring the most pleasant or the perhaps sadder alternatives to mind? I am curious at people's thoughts
Best wishes,
Cerulean

I have noticed when reading for myself that the appearance of the High Priestess or the Queen of Swords usually points to a "negative" (or "road-sign" as shelikes2read put it) situation.
Strength, Empress or the other Queens are usually a positive.

I like the Empress or the Star. They are usually positive for
me in a reading. So is the two of cups or the 9 of cups. Worst Cards for me is the 10 of Swords or the 7 of Swords.
The 7 of Swords usually indicates someone being sneaky or trying to trick you out of something. I am always nervous when I get alot of swords in my spreads. To me, that usually means
trouble of some kind.

Just about any Sword, right-side-up or reversed, are bad for me - no matter which way you read them, they tend to be negative. Just about any Cups card for me is good - even reversed, they are not as negative as some other cards can be.

I kept getting the Tower last week, linked with cards like the 2 of Cups, the 3 of Cups, and the World. I couldn't figure it out, because I kept thinking, uh-oh, the Tower. I forgot that sometimes it just means the unexpected.
Well, an unexpected opportunity means my good friend and I will be joint owners of a studio with workshop space and access to gallery space -- truly an unexpected and earthshaking event. Now I understand those other cards.
I'm never happy to see the 3, 5, 7, 9 of swords. The 10 is horrid, too, but at least I figure the pain is ending.

i recently pulled 6 of wands and tower both reversed....one of those moments where you reflect there is no great loss without some small gain and just keep going
on the other side a 3 of cups and sun combination would be a favorite
or even a 10 of swords death combination could be a relief depending on the nature of the question
and yes i have been really into pairing up my cards lately :-)
