Do certain cards embody certain people in your life?

I'm just wondering if anybody else here has found that certain cards will consistently represent specific individuals in their lives... For example.. one person I am very close to always seems to appear as the Hierophant. Sometimes he even shows up when the reading does not concern him, and I'm inclined to say, "Oh hello, what are doing here?" :D
Of course, sometimes the Hierophant will show up and I know he does not indicate the presence of the one individual; I always seem to be able to distinguish the difference at an intuitive level.
Thoughts? Theories?

I'm weird in a particular way: I see celebrities who seem to absolutely embody the archetypes. But as to inky-dinky normal life, I can't really see anyone after *that* to fit such huge archetypal shoes... My 70-something Hungarian friend Veronika has in some ways been the High Priestess, however. So I know what you mean.

Hmm... maybe it is just me that is odd ;)
The friend who shows up as the Hierophant has actually had a huge impact on my life, and at times has acted as a kind of teacher or guide.
I'm wondering if it are people, like your 70 year old friend, who have have had a profound affect on our lives that show up in this way???

In the Phantasmagoric Theatre Tarot, it is packed full of many of my friends. Some really remind me of my mates physically, and funnily enough, the write up on the specific cards fits their personality too.

Every reading I've done for my daughter includes the Magician and, unfortunately, the Tower! But then she is in adolescence which is a Tower time if there is one.

When I'm doing self-readings, the King of Cups and/or the King of Swords almost never (so far) seem to refer to anyone except my father. The Knight of Cups, meanwhile, almost always represents myself. (I'm passionate yet sensitive! :) )
So, I guess that's a "yes." Though I suppose the fact of the matter is, there's really no-one else in my life that fits the K:CS and K:SS archetypes but my father. He's a retired schoolteacher and active church member, very generous yet somewhat rigid. The few times when these cards turn out *not* to mean him, they tend not to be representing a person at all but rather some sort of "kingly" axiom.

On days when I draw the Eight of Swords as one of my cards for the day, I can pretty much count on getting a lengthy phone call from a certain old friend who, although a dear person, sometimes relates long, pointless stories about people I don't know. And when I draw the High Priestess, I usually hear from my sister, Bettye Jean (I use the Universal Waite, so I relate it to the initials B and J on the pillars).

YES - I have a King of Cups. Whenever he turns up in my readings, it's in reference to this specific person.

Yes, this happens to me - and like Dark Artemis mentioned, sometimes it isn't that person, and you know it. In my case, the King of Cups reversed is a specific individual - and there is a King of Swords who I know I should know, but I have not met him or her yet...

I have an adversarial, but respectful relationship with a certain Queen of Swords (and she only appears when reading on the subject that she's connected to). My best friend is a Magician through and through. My 6-year old son, always appears as either the Page of Swords or the Sun. Whenever I draw the 10 of Cups (especially when using the Spiral), I know that a close friend or family member will soon appear in my dreams.

My female psychologist always appeared in readings as the High Priestess, so instead of telling my friends "I'll have a session with my therapist" I used to say "I'll visit the master of the subconscious" it made more exciting the visit :)
