Tracyj04: Welcome to Talking Tarot!
Your dream may indicate your attraction to or interest in Tarot; also an encouragement to learn; or to invest some time in the study.
As with approaching anything new or unfamilar, learning Tarot requires a certain measure of commitment & effort. An involvement with Tarot is a never-ending process of learning--much as life itself offers.
Reading Tarot books can offer some of the information but only to a limited extent. The rest is learned by the hands-on; the actual practice of using the cards. Familiarity with the various images & symbology can lead to a better understanding of the possible meanings at any one time. The fringe benefit is the development of the intuition, a quality possessed by everyone that can be utilized in not only readings, but in the daily life.

I too had a dream about seeing a Tarot card! It was the first night that i got my cards, and I was sleeping with them under my pillow.

I often dream about tarot cards. I think it is when I have been busy with them during the day.
We often use dreams to digest the information we got during the day. Our mind uses the sleep period to go over everything we learnt (learn in the broadest sense) during the day. By the way, this is why it is not a good idea to study all night for an exam, you end up knowing more if you do sleep the night before an exam.
I saw scientific programs on this, very interesting. Many people say they would love to be able to study while sleeping, but to a certain extent we do.
It could also mean other things: because you are particularly affected by a card, or it could predict something (if you have predictive dreams, which I have sometimes but not often).

The Empress made me soup last week. It was pea soup. Delicious. We sat together in a huge kitchen with grey stone walls and a solid oak table with long wooden benches. She sat on one side of the long table and I sat on the other, with wooden laddels in our hands, dipping them into the large cauldron in front of us. We slurped rather than sipped. It was good soup.
Upstairs, in the courts of the Medieval castle that the kitchen was within, a crowd of important knights, kings and queens had come to seek guidance from their rulers. The Emperor, casting a wry smile at the empty seat at his side, sat down upon his thone and invited the congragation to sit. One queen, with a 3 foot sword in hand, asked the Emperor, "Will the Empress not be joining us?" The Emperor's eyes began to twinkle as he spoke, "not today, she is helping a lost pixie find her way"
....and the pixie woke up refreshed, if a little bemused, and began excitedly painting pictures of castles and pea soup into her tarot journal.

I loved having my Empress dream. It was so vivid, and I woke up feeling very refreshed and uplifted.

Well now that my flabbergasted has sort of recovered, i'm due for another one tomorrow as i will be the big 30.
I'm off out to find a big flabbergasting rock to hide under and probably cry.
Let me know if you have another dream (visa versa) like that one i'd really be interested to know because it is an amazing dream.
Blessed Be
Tracy.

I do not have dreams about tarot so far, however, my friend dreamt of his ideal partner in his dreams when he slept with his tarot

That is so weird but brilliant
Do you think that would happen to most people.
What i mean is if people slept with their tarot card all the time under the pillow they could get solutions to their problems.
Is it safe to sleep with your tarot cards under your pillow every night does anyone know?.
Did your friend meet his ideal partner?.
Blessed Be
Tracy.

I made an experiment and just before sleeping I shuffled, cut the deck and went to sleep, the dreaming gave answer to my question in a very healing way, maybe it was "wishful dreaming" but for me was as useful as an actual reading... I didn't dare to see what the cards as I considered my question answered.

When I have slept with my Tarot cards, they are inside their bag, I put the bag on my side under the sheets, as I move a lot during the night I never put the bag under my pillow. You can try put your cards with its box, so the risk of damage the cards while sleeping is reduced.

I don't think sleeping with your tarot helps solve problems, but it has induced alot of crazy tarot dreams for me! Strange tarot cards and tarot conversations, even doing readings at stop stations all the way down the side of a mountain! I guess it's because the cards are one of the last things you think about before you fall asleep...
I wouldn't sleep with them every night...the dreams wear down after a while. Still, I plan to do it every now and then. If I do it too often, I probably wouldn't get any real sleep.:D

If your flabber is still gasted, maybe you should get a strap to support it for a while! :D
As for sleeping with a deck under your pillow, I read you should do that to get close to your deck, sort of to spiritually imprint it. I thought you had to do it every night. Finally, someone told me you should do it just for a night or two, and I was SO GLAD. I was getting a stiff neck!
Now I don't bother, but if it makes you happy do it. I think an effective way of handling tarot problem solving is to mediate on a card just before bed then see what you think in the morning. IT can help sometimes.

Oooh Raeven I wonder if this is why I am chroniclly tired! I sleep with 18 decks, 4 oracles, 1 pendulum, around 50 crystals and a set of rune stones on the shelves next to my bed! Maybe I'm on esoteric overload :D

Oh wow Alissa, of course! I hadn't thought of it as more than just a cool dream, but it makes vast ammounts of sense now I am re-reading it. Maybe it was just a touch prophetic too :)
