Very interesting, though it says they're playing cards? Side note: why are eBay sellers always such LOUSY photographers?

They are certainly not the largest Tarot cards in the world...
Have a look at Flornoy's own works::):):)

Just an FYI for anyone posting long URLs:

RRS, if you want to wear a Tarot card for Halloween, who says you can't paint one yourself? :D

"Seriously, folks, they are each the size of a small table-top!!"
+++
Come to think of it, those tabletop-sized cards would make an excellent tabletop! I'm envisioning The Empress as part of a dining room ensemble...
But perhaps they're not the biggest tarot 'cards' ever.
Maybe Italy has that honor: to get a hint of Niki de St. Phalle's several-acre Garden of Tarot: http://www.initaly.com/regions/kids/kid1.htm

Only just on the subject, but still - Yesterday I came across a jacket made entirely of Czech Taroky cards - stuck into kind of frames of leather and all sewn together, if you can imagine that. Goodness knows who would wear it. Nice for fancy dress maybe. It was very skillfully made and I'd love a photo of it, but don't think I'll be buying it!

*I'd* wear it, hehee!! :D
One other thing: I *think* that these cards are *close* to the size of those Swiss ones. I *think*.

Hey now.... I resemble that remark...lol
Your right that is a terrible photo.. for $4000.00 I would be wanting a better picture to look at!
Can you imagine the house of cards you can build from that deck?? Maybe Ripley's Believe it or Not will want them ;)

They're big enough to prop in the windows & give the neighbors a look at something weird. Maybe you could put up your 'card of the day' that way & warn everyone in advance?
79 cards would come to, what, 90 pounds weight? Wonder if the shipping cost (and insurance) are reasonable. That'd be some package delivered to a home! I don't personally have $4,000 I'm willing to splurge on them, but it's fun to think I could. They'd make a nice little house of cards for the cats to run through & knock down.
Think they come in a box? Should someone email the seller & ask about the condition of the box? LOL

And do the cards come with a LWB (LARGE white book)!?

you could decorate a whole wall with those cards. Can you imagine your friends faces when they walk in to be confronted by a whole deck of cards in your living room.

It might cost less to buy 78 sandwich boards (see http://www.memoriespictures.co.uk/socialhistory/london%20life/Sandwich%20board%20man%20LL40.jpg ) and make one's own set of giant cards. ;)
Wow, though -- the cards in the ebay auction and the ones in Switzerland are HUGE.

Just think if you covered your ceilings, or someplace unexpected, with them, and then when somebody looked up ~ WOW! What an eyeful! You could do a LOT of fun stuff with them (if you could only afford the exorbitant price & shipping, etc.). Maybe several people could "chip in" on them, and each have a few cards apiece! Then ownership could rotate every few weeks....

Unless you were next-door neighbors, the *shipping* for "rotating ownership" would put you into the poorhouse!! :D

You'd sure get in shape laying out spreads with these huge cards everyday, then climbing a tree or going up on your roof to see the whole spread. You'd need your whole driveway to do a celtic cross spread, atleast with Flornoys cards. But It would be cool to to see the Hermit and High Priestess be as tall as you!

Actually, when I first took a Tarot class in 1986, the teacher had a LARGE Rider Waite major arcana set. Each card about the size of a sheet of paper, but card stock. yes, you could read with them. And they were a lot more interesting looking then these are.

Oh well, I don't think they are necessarily badly done considering the size! I know that there is a *large*-sized RW deck, but that's only a jumbo-size that's still within the limits, if you know what I mean. I think I'm more interested in minis! (I collect those.)
