Tarot Course

I was just looking at the Barnes and Nobles University web page. They have a couse for Tarot beginners. I was wondering if any one has ever taken this course? Is it worth the time and effort to do so? Is the required book a good one to have? Here's the link to the page so everyone can see what I'm asking about. Thanks in advance!

There's a thread on this already here, somewhere.

The book is written by the teacher, and in my opinion, she's fabulous. I was thinking about taking it even, just to have a chance to work with her a bit.

You can go look up her book in the Tarot Books and Media forum.

Hi blackadder - It seems to me you don't have anything to lose if its a free course, and it's nice they have an online instructor. The required book by Joan Bunning is excellent, and I would highly recommend it, especially for beginners. I refer to it frequently myself. Just so you know, though, Joan Bunning also has her course completely online at her website, www.learntarot.com/top.htm, and you can even download it. She also has the complete contents of her book online.

Great name by the way - I once had a cat named Baldrick.

Hi Blackadder!

I've taken this course twice and I will probably taken it again. Joan Bunning no longer teaches the class but the woman who does is great. Astrologer Dawn (sorry, dawn, I can't remember your last name). Joan did create the class though and they still use her book and format. Although this class is called Tarot for Beginners, there is a wide range of expertise in the student body (the student body is huge). Some have been reading for hundreds of years while others have only seen a Tarot deck on TV. But I think that's what's great about. If you see me there say hi.

Peace,
April

I've taken this course a couple of times, too. Both the course and book are excellent.

Thanks for the imput! I'm glad to hear that others here have taken the course and that they liked it. I just love taking the course on B&N. I've taken several other course and always learn something new each time. I'm a repeat student in the genealogy course and I can't get enough. I'm sure that the tarot course will be the same

I will have to check out the web site. I'm sure that I will not be able to get the book before class starts so having it online will help a great deal.
I just had to laugh about your cat named Baldrick. I can just imagine you calling him! I always got a chuckle when Blackadder would call Baldrick.

We wanted to name him Blackadder, but he was a white cat, so that wouldn't have worked!
