I just found out that Heraclio Fournier, S.A. (who publishes the Fournier Marseilles and other decks) is owned by the United States Playing Card Company! USPC acquired Fournier in 1986.

U.S. Playing Card sold to New York firm
Jarden Corp. of Rye, N.Y., signed a definitive agreement to purchase U.S. Playing Card Co. for $232 million in cash. Cincinnati-based U.S. Playing Card is the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of playing cards -- including Bee, Hoyle, Bicycle and Aviator brands -- children's card games, collectible times, puzzles and card accessories for the North American retail market. It also is the largest supplier of cards to casinos worldwide. The company was founded in 1876, and today it includes the international holdings of Heraclio Fournier S.A., which makes cards in Europe, and International Playing Card Co. in Canada.

Lee: That is a most interesting piece of news & thanks very much for the link!
Does that mean those decks published under the Fournier umbrella may be acquired through U.S. Playing Card (domestically)? The website does not offer much information on decks available.

Fulgour: As Alice said, "Curioser and curioser!"
A sign of the times that companies oft become the property of other entities, usually large corporations. One wonders if their original integrity is preserved.

I think USPC only sells to wholesalers, they don't retail directly to the public.
