'Ever traded / sold a deck only to buy it again after?

I'm wondering how many people have parted with a deck only to find that (on reflection) they wish they hadn't- so end up buying it again. If so, what deck(s) was it and how long after you let it go did you get another (days? years?)

Take care,
Regards,

I've done tht a few times.
About a year ago I traded away my Halloween tarot, missed it too much too many months later and got a new copy 3 months ago.
I traded y old Aquarian to a local used bookshop, then felt guilty and bought it back 4 months later. Boy, was it pissed. A lovely good cleansing and promises of never again fixed it up.
I keep buying RWS's as a reference, or because I should have one, but then I give or trade them away. the last one is a pocket RWS that I'm not missing. I tell myself tht I have all those books with pix's of them, and should be enough for reference.
I have carefully not traded away my reference Thoth because I dislike it so much I know I'll never spend another dime on a thoth, but do need a reference. The companion book I have with it looks like a truck backed up over it ($1. at a garage sale :D) but it's still readable.

See? You're not alone ! :)

My very first deck I ever bought on my own, the Celtic Dragon Tarot was also the first deck that I ever parted with. I bought it on a whim at a local media store and played with it for about a year, but never really had adeep connection with it. So I sold it for half of what I paid for it to someone who fell in love with the artwork much as I had. Later, after I had other decks and knew a bit more about the symbolism and 'how to read' them cards, I bought another, but alas, it wasn't meant to be yet because not long after purchase, it went missing. You could see, if you were to look in the trading tarot forum, that just recently I posted a "Is seeking out" notice on this deck again, because despite the problems I have had getting and keeping this deck, I really do like it and want to get to know it better.

Also, like others, I am on my 3rd or 4th copy of the rider-waite, having given them out to others, sold one and, half ruined another (score another 1 for the coffee cup).

Two decks.. my very first deck Enchanted Tarot, and my third deck Shapeshifter. I regreted both of them after I bid farewell. Enchanted went to my sister in law so the regrets did not start right away, after all, it gave her such pleasure and it was still in the family.
Shapeshift ...well that was a sad day on Sesame Street immediately! What the heck was I thinking!!!
Happy to say both decks have been replaced thru the wonders of AT :D

I have traded other decks and not regreted, but I am more discriminating now ;)

I have never wanted back any of the decks I've traded.
I always wait a long time before I trade anything and give the deck a good fighting chance before it moves forward to anyone else.

I gave a deck (against my will ) to a friend who needed a new deck very badly but is very, very poor and can not afford to buy one...my Voyager.
He just connected with it instantly.
And I didn't have the heart to pry it from his vise like grip!
I figured that the universe would replace it if I was to have it again.
Within 4 weeks of it leaving I got another one in trade here on the Trading Forum!
So all's well that ends well.
And now my friend and I can play dueling Voyager tarot together. :)

you bet...

i just bought a used haindl almost two years after trading my own copy of this deck.

i got my own copy of the zerner farber back after trading it to the US. so this little thing has been twice the object of a trade and altogether (since it originally was bought for me in NY and considering it was manufactured in belgium), it travelled between continents quite a few times ;)

what else?? kalevala tarot. had the book and deck, traded them to catlin and was lucky enough to find a copy of both a few months ago!

decisions, decisions...

regrets, regrets...

Yep, Ive done this too.

Sold on ebay my Enchanted(zerner/farber) and Legend Arthurian tarots, only to buy them again about 4 months later

Mind you I have sold a lot of decks over the past year, and most i never regretted.

Im not so hasty now when I let a deck go ;o)

Well, I did trade the Swedish Witch and immediately bought another copy. It was not out of regret though, it was a deliberate move. I traded the SW for the Dreampower tarot, an out of print deck that is getting hard to find. So I thought it was easier to send of my SW and order another one from a Swedish website, rather than keep on looking for the Dreampower. (I don't know Swedish, but I can just recognize enough words to order a deck on line :D)

Not quite the same, but seeing a close friend, I realised my 'Cat People' should really be hers, so I gave them to her, and bought another one. It just felt right, and still does. The deck wanted to be with her.

I am not able to remember all the decks I have traded or given away--that must mean I do not miss them!

Like Lark, I have never parted with a deck without a great deal of time passing or a great deal of reflection or thought...in this way, I haven't yet regreted any of my trades....
