Missing Card

Have only just realised that I am missing the '6 of Cups' from my Soprafino. It has only been away from the house once and to my memory, it was there when I returned. Aside from that, it has been within the house. I do carry decks from room to room but am very careful with them. I have looked through the deck several times but it is not stuck to another.

Has anyone got any ideas? I remember we have found cards for people together before. Any suggestions from you and your cards will be investigated.

Hope I find it soon; feel sad without it.

Yaboot ~

Have you checked inside the box? Sometimes one or two cards remain there when you get the othes out.

Just another, quite obvious throught, but it mayaccidentally have found its way to another deck of cards. You might have been using more than one at the same time or absentmindedly have returned it to another box.

Hope you find it soon.

Thanks Moongold

Just looked through all of the packs and Mum and Dad went through some as well but no joy. :(

Maybe it will turn up. Just not sure when it went missing now! Makes looking harder as I don't know where to start.

Did you scan it.
i found a long lost card in my scanner.
I also found one tucked inside a book.

Little Baron  24 Oct 2004
Thanks Lark.

I looked under the scanner but no luck. I have been lookin through books and can't find it. I have to stay in London tomorrow for a week but when I get back, I will have a good old clean out. Maybe me deck is telling me I need a good sort and chuck out session. I hate it when things get lost and my Soprafino feels soooo incomplete now. I just hope I lost it in the house because at least there is a chance it may turn up. It's strange because I take such care of that deck. I work on the bed but I have checked under the duvet, sheets, in pillows, down the side but nothing there. Jack the mannequin is looking a bit sheepish. He had to be moved for me to look in the bed and now, he is looking out of the window and his eyes are covered by a cap. Might have to give him a strip-search; he looks as though he is hiding something!

Yaboot ~

St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost things. I have found asking him for help does work sometimes. Ask and then leave it for a while. The answer will come in the most natural way.

All the best :)

Little Baron  24 Oct 2004
Thanks Moongold. I will ask. I will also ask my guides when I go to bed. They shout stuff out a lot, so maybe they will be of some help.

In a book, not necessarily one that you used for a reading with the deck, but quite possibly one you tucked the card into as a marker.

Oh Yab :(

My reasoning tells me to backtrack to when I last used the item so going by that method....

I remember when you last posted about this deck, a while ago (when you first got it - I think). Which other decks were you using at the same timl? Was it the Enoil Gavat? Have you looked all through that deck?

Are you SURE the card was in the deck when you got it? I say this because I know you haven't had it long.

Failing all else you could email Alida (or whoever) and see if you can get a replacement card.

M*

Edited to say.. I just did a quick search and you were using IJJ Swiss at the time (about the same size!), and you were creating your 15 minute tarot card..... a couple of ideas for you to look...

PPS Edit! - do a reading on it :)

Kissa  25 Oct 2004
if i remember correctly, the soprafino is in those special classy boxes with no bottom (like the tarot of prague, 1st ed.) so maybe it fell somewhere in your house while you were carrying it. if it has been away from home too, it may have fallen there?

do you keep your decks in a box? on a bookshelf? it might have fallen there too...

do you have young children or pets ;) ? ... are you being interrupted all the time when you try to do tarot stuff? is there a chance you had to run with the Six of Cups in your hands to save your parrot from your cat's claws or dog's jaw? did you have to run to the bathroom and try to soap the nice thick pencil drawings your older child did on your youngest?... does someone else than you have access to your cards? oooch that hurt...

i can relate to your disappointment, sorrow and frustration.

please keep us posted...

I just joined here a couple of weeks ago and was so excited to find others who understood not only my readings but was very liked minded. I sat down with my deck of Rider Waite to go though the study guide, only to find my Justice card missing. I am very careful with my cards. This is the only deck that I have ever owned all the years I have been reading. I was crushed. I cried the entire evening and it still breaks my heart. So, thank you Yaboot for this post. At least I know that it does sometimes happens. ( Is it a silly thought or looking in to this too deep, wondering why that card went missing?)

littlehermit  27 Oct 2004
Pulled Six de Bâtons for you... feel as though you're supposed to look for your Six of Cups at a "crossroads" - where you changed modes of transportation, changed clothes, made some transition in your day - maybe even where two hallways intersect? a doorway? probably a busyish one.

hope you find it soon!

culturejam  27 Oct 2004
Sounds cliche, but I'm getting a very distinct vibe that you should perform a thorough search of your closet (particularly the floor area).

littlehermit  27 Oct 2004
Sheela-na, I pulled a card for you too. I got Huit d'Espées (Eight of Swords). Since 8 is the number of Justice in this deck, I think you're going to get your Justice card back or replaced (since it's Rider-Waite, it shouldn't be a problem at all to find a spare Justice card from a supplier) - and that, yes, it's significant somehow that that's the card that went missing.
Your deck is/will still be whole, integral, usable, yours. These swords don't fall apart from each other but form a whole. The cards (it's funny, in French the cards are called "lames", which can also be a word for blades) still see.

*hug*

I've had very good luck when I write a manufacturer or publisher and tell them a card was missing...i've almost always received a replacement card free...

SeraphSarah  28 Oct 2004
Maybe try looking by stairs or under stairs.?

Moonbow*  28 Oct 2004
Just another thought....

Do you have a pendulum? I have heard other people finding things with one. You can use anything to make one, a necklace, wedding ring on a piece of thread etc....

Infact it would be an interesting test I think.

Emily  28 Oct 2004
Do you have a bag or a rucksack that you usually transport your decks in?

The Soprafino cards are very small, might be easy to miss but the wrap-around card slip should keep them from falling out of the ribbon tied outer case. Saying that I have played 78 card pick-up with these cards often because they don't shuffle very well. Hope you find it.

Little Baron  03 Nov 2004
Thanks for all of your responses to this thread. I have followed up all possibilities but no card found. It's awful because I can't look at my Soprafino, knowing that one is missing. I only took it away from the house once, but I am quite sure, knowing me, that I checked the deck when I got home, to make sure it was complete - well as sure as I can be.

I remember this happening once before with the RW. The Hermit went missing. I searched for days and eventually went out to replace it. I ended up coming back with the 'Universal Waite', which suited my tastes more at the time. As soon as that deck made it into the house, the Hermit found itself back in the pack.

This time, I have purchased the 'Ancient Italian', which has been working beautifully in the 'YA and BOOT' threads, so maybe the Soprafino wanted me to experience that.

I wrote to Alida yesterday and they replied today, asking me to tell them which card was missing and they would send me a replacement. Three Cheers for Alida!!!
So now, I will hopefully have my Soprafino back in order and also have the Ancient Italian, which is a little more robusk for reading for others.

It turned up! My Mum was cleaning in the living room and moved the sofa. She shouted out 'you'll never guess what I have found'. Because we have wood flooring in the living room, I think it made it easier for it to slide away underneath. Well ... its back now ... safe and sound.

Thanks for all of your help.

Yay! Yaboot.... :D

Great news!

I'm so glad it turned up, I would feel the same way as you if I lost a card. It's like a chain with a missing link.

Great news!

Little Baron  06 Nov 2004
Absolutely. I felt really frustrated that it gone astray. Now it is back, I am very happy.

Hooray! :D :D :D

i'm very pleased for you Yaboot :D It's awful when something goes missing - can't imagine how bad it would be to lose a card from a favorite deck.

Love

Thats great news, Yaboot!

Guess you'll now have two 'six of cups' ~ hehe

:)

((Yabs))

Been there a couple of times... It seems like it is a message. Reflect, stop looking then ask for it to come back, Worked for me twice ;)

Keep that in mind for the next time one decided to take a trip.

Little Baron  06 Nov 2004
I think the message was to go and buy the 'Ancient Italian'. After losing the card, I saw that deck in a shop in London and bought it; just because I was a little down about losing the other card. I don't like the AI as much as the S but I do like it's durability and have decided that if I use my S for online readings and for myself, the AI would be a great little deck for reading for others and taking away from the house. Happy with both decks; they are like good little brothers.

The delicate linen stock on these little cards (although a nice fingering size) can make them stick to fabric services and the size may make them vanish into other decks.

So for awhile you were yearning while the Six of Cups sank and slipped from the sofa (couch) cushions...I just realized that six of cups sometimes might be nostalgia or regret under another name (if looking to old playing cards):

SIX OF HEARTS REGRET Disappointment in oneself or one's actions from a previous time. What is past is past. What is future is another thing...

and now you've been able to experience the whole gamut, from loss and regret to relief and delight at a valued treasure! It was so nice to hear how kindly your family pitched in to help you...in this way, the nostalgia of what is lost and found might take on a new meaning?

Best wishes...and thank you for the update.

Sincerely,

Cerulean

Shopping!!! That is a good message Yabs!! :D:D:D My favortie kind of message!

(congratulations on your new deck)

lionette  06 Nov 2004
Yaboot -- while scrolling through all the posts I kept thinking "he should look under the sofa!"

I had a similar experience, but it was finding the cards before I realized they were missing!

Glad you found that renegade!
