Hello Friends,
I purchased a new, unopened copy of the Glasonbury tarot yesterday. But when I opened it I discovered it was slightly damaged. There were ink smudges on the edges and the King of Swords was slightly torn.
I didn't know what to do since the store where I purchased it doesn't accept opened decks for return (damaged or not) and I've wanted the Glastonbury for a very long time.
Then I remembered reading here in the forums that publishers are often willing to send replacement card (s) and or decks. I emailed Weiser this morning about it. They responded this afternoon and are sending me a replacement deck -- expedited -- so that it may arrive before I go to London.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone! :-) Many blessings and much gratitude. :-)
Love,
Ivy

I'm pleased you got it sorted out. The Glastonbury is a lovely deck - I use it for magic. The only critisism I have of it is the horrible laminate coting on the cards - they have an almost sticky feel to them. I wish they'd print this deck again with a different coating - I'd definately get one.
Love
Sulis xx

That's great, Ivy. It's so nice when customer service is as responsive as that! Enjoy your Glastonbury -- it's a wonderful deck.

Hi everyone. I'm glad Weiser replaced your deck, Ivy - they're usually very helpful. I agree about the horrible laminate - that printrun has now come to an end - but there are discussions taking place about the tarot deck being republished (hopefully with better laminate!). If that goes ahead, I'll let you know.
Love

Hello Sulis, :-)
I was actually surprised to receive a response from the publisher so quickly. Just goes to show how much they care about their customers and the tarot community in general. :-)
The coating on the cards is a bit bothersome as they are a bit sticky, but I hope it will get better with use. I adore this deck and feel it will become my mail reading deck very soon. :-)
Wow! I've never heard of the cards being used for magic. I'd like to learn more about this. I'm an earth mama hippie chick and have just set a firm foot on the Goddess path. Any suggestions as to where to begin? :-)
Love,
Ivy

Hi Astraea, :-)
Thank you so very much. :-) I am reading the book now and am enjoying it very much. I'm also going to explore Weiser's website more -- that is if I can keep my hands off the cards long enough. :-)
Blessings,
Ivy

Glad to hear about the replacement Ivy and it's something definately worth remembering, because as you say shops don't like the decks taken back.
I really like this deck and what's more I bought it IN Glastonbury which makes it all the more special to me. At first I found the coating sticky too and the card were in one lump when I first got them, but I am over that now. To me the best part of the deck is the peaceful, up tempo mood it gives.
It's great to see you on the forums Lisa

Hi Lisa, :-)
Thank you so very much for the information. I was so happily surprised when I received such a quick and generous response from them.
While the laminate is bothersome, the deck is quickly becoming my favorite. I also heard it's out of print. Do you know if that's true?
I'll use it, sticky laminate or not, and I greatly appreciate your offer to let me know if it gets republished. :-) If it ever is, I'm going to order several copies -- a couple for me and a few more for friends. :-)
Love,
Ivy

Hi Ivy and Moonbow! Thanks for your messages!
Yes, the tarot deck is out of print now. Kim, who organised the UK Tarot Conference that was held in London last weekend, had the last few copies. You could contact her via her website www.akashic.co.uk to see whether any are left. Weiser won't be reprinting them, as the company has changed hands, (shame, as they're lovely people) but they've given the Rights to me which means that if another publisher is interested they'll be republished. Talks are in progress at the moment, so I'll let you know if anything moves forward!
The laminate on the cards was very poor - though I've found that once they've been used a few times they stop sticking together. I'm delighted that you like the cards though - thank you!
Happy reading...
Love
Lisa

Hi Moonbow, :-)
Thanks so very much. :-) I agree with you completely -- the colors are fantastic and it has such a great energy to it. :-) I feel as if I can just walk right into the cards. :-) It's now officially my favorite deck and it's not even sticky anymore. :-)
Love & Blessings,
Ivy

Hi Lisa, :-)
Thanks so very much for the link and the information. :-) The replacement copy arrived just a little while ago and it's in mint condition. :-)
I did a reading with my first copy last night and it's the best reading I've ever had with a deck. I used the tree spread and was wonderfully "blown away" by the accuracy and how deeply the wisdom resonated within me.
It has become my favorite reading deck and will go with me wherever I go -- even to London on my honeymoon. :-) And hubby doesn't mind as he's quite taken with it too. :-) In fact, he's insisted that I bring it along. :-)
Thank you so very, very much!!! :-)
Much Love & Brightest of Blessings,
Ivy
