I've been thinking of all the people I have read for in person and then
all the readers I have travelled to see in person for a reading.
I have went 1 hour away from home and many miles finding
all the readers and fairs.
Mostly I went to see "how do they do that" and then what they told me.
I think that part of my studies was in the travelling and feel that I was meant to find each one of my readers.
Different towns, different methods & different types of people. Looking back
I can't remember how I found some of the readers.
Do you think that people in a subconscious way,
find you or come looking for you if you read Tarot or Oracles?

They say that Bodhidharma never looked for any disciples. Instead, he sat in front of a wall and waited for years until one showed up. I imagine a Tarot reader, sitted on a little table at a cafe, or perhaps in a park, with no advertising signs. Just him and his deck by his side. Many people will pass him by. Perhaps after a day (or a week, or a month), someone will come and sit down on the opposite side of the table and ask for a reading.
Of course, that's a bit of a surreal scenario. My encounter with Tarot happened nearly as a random thing, I wasn't expecting or looking for it at all. But readers? I don't know. Maybe you can do a reading for a friend, and then he/she will tell her/his friends, and so on, until you are known to do readings. But, well.. I'm just starting on this. I really have no idea of how it works.

There are times that I am sought out for readings, and at other times that the deck and I just SIT there and nothing happens. I suppose when I am needed they will come. But I also must WANT to do readings right then.

In my experience I have found that readings happen at times when you least expect it.
I was holidaying in Vegas a few weeks back and wondered into a magic store.
I was looking as a pure consumer for a tacky little gift for my son.
The salesman/magician/cardshark tried to upsell me a few items, one of which was a tarot deck, I laughed that off and told him that back home in Australia I am a reader.
With wide-eyed wonderment he told me he had just purchased his first deck that very day and asked me the best way to learn.
I gave him a few tips and as a cap I said pass me your deck and I'll give you a quick reading.
It was extremely interesting to see how our dynamics changed, he let his guard down and opened himself up to new possiblities.
That brief encounter is one of my favourite readings I have done.
Another time I was standing in a supermarket queue and accidentally overheard the people talking behind me.
They were discussing there needs for a reading, now I dont normally solicite myself but I had to laugh when one suggested to the other to go and see the reader at the Gift Shop in the next town.
I turned and said "Hunny, that's me, I'm available this arvo for a reading if you like"
