Hey there everyone! Now we all now that Aeclectic Tarot is the best website for searching for tarot cards...but does anyone know one for tarot bags and reading cloths?
Ive found a few on the web but they all look really gothic and have pentagrams and stuff on them and its not my kind of thing really...I like bright cute colours...(pinks, pastels, lilac, purples...)
Any ideas???

Right, there's at least two people on Aeclectic who make great bags. Hopefully they see this post & chime in. I can't remember who it was, one had bags from Africa (it was quite a long thread), and the other was selling them on her site & on ebay.
If you sew, you can always measure the size of your decks and make your own, of course. That way you'd get the fabric you really wanted and all.

Dear ChubbyMummy(what a great name, by the way !),
I have recently found and used 2 excellent sites. One is in the UK-Tarot Galadriel is an Aeclectic Forum member based in London-she changes her designs quite often and any of her bags can have charms attached if you want. The bags are a good size, at a reasonable price, and they are not Gothicky.
The other site is Tarottotes, based in Oregon. Though a few of their designs ARE Gothic in feel, most are not. They have plenty of designs using the colours you mention.
Both these sites offer Paypal as a means of payment, and their shipping rates are reasonable. I've been very pleased all round. :)

P.S. I have just realized that Tarottotes have already been mentioned. No matter !

Shopwicked.com is good too. Those tarot bags for sale as part of the contest last month were pretty. And someone (I forgot who!) on the forum does a lot of their bags. NICE stuff.
Also Oni (a forum member) has some pretty bags she was selling, you might PM her.

I've found that sometimes bags will pop up when you least expect them - I use a shop where I get my oils and scented candles from, its like an ethnic/new age shop and they've just had some bags in that are perfect for decks. I only had the one for my Morgan Greer but now I know that the decks will fit, I'm going to go back and get some more. I only paid £3 for this deck bag so was really pleased. Its not fancy just a black material with a flower motif on the front, looks very gothic - probably not designed as a tarot back but looks good.
So if you have these kind of shops anywhere near you, it might be worth going in and having a look around. :)

I Have 3 of Cj Tarots' spread cloths - they're patterned on one side (and she seems to always find the right fabric for a deck) and plain on the reading side. They also have a pocket for your deck and a smaller pocket for a crystal. You put your deck in its pocket and the cloth folds up around it so the deck is very well protected.
They are gorgeous, very well made and very good value :)
Love

Me too! I have a couple of lovely bags made by rabble and ferrous as well. I am a lucky one to get to see them IRL as they are a popular 'raffle' prize at our tarot get togethers each month, to which rabble and ferrous kindly bring along a basket of them so we get to pick exactly the one we want :D

Here is my favourite site for beautiful Tarot bags. I love them all. They are all silk or satin lined, and just stunning. And they come smelling wonderful, with mini lavendar petals in them. As you can imagine, all my decks (all 3,LOL) are in these, and I will definitely go back for more as I get new decks. I hope you or someone else here loves them as much as I do.:-)

that's shop.wiccked.com :)
shop dot wiccked (as we call it) is ferrous, me and my daughter, who's scherre on here, but never posts - she's the silent type - ferrous and me talk enough for all three of us!
I think there are quite a few forum members who've bought bags from us now. If you do look at our site, and don't see exactly what you like, feel free to tell us what you want, we'd be happy to make to order :)

Thanks I had checked out your site two days ago and I really did like what I saw, but I had lost the address. I was looking for it yesterday and could not find it. Thanks for sending it again.
I hope to be getting my next deck for the holidays (The Goddess Tarot) and I think I will contact you around then for a new bag. :-)
See you later:-)

Oh, your site is in Australia. I am in Canada. Any idea how Australian dollars convert to Canadian ones, and what happens with shipping charges and duty?

Canadian and Australian dollars are usually pretty close - at the moment one of ours is .91 of yours.
Shipping is included in our prices. When you get to the checkout there will be links to the various payment methods we accept, one of which is a paypal link in US$ - paypal doesn't do AU$ yet. There are lots of currency converters online, and we do have one on our "about" page.
I can't advise you about duty, your own post office or customs should be able to, but as far as I know, nobody yet has had to pay duty on our goods. I think pretty much small dollar amounts like these (even multiple item sales) don't get charged duty, but obviously I can't guarantee that. I know, for myself, when I've bought gems and silver from overseas I've never had to pay duty, and from what I know from others, on a beading forum, you only usually get charged duty (in Australia) if you're spending a couple of hundred dollars or more.

Thanks for the info...:-) Doesn't sound to complicated. One more question and I am done bugging you. :-) Any idea how long it would take to get here (in Montreal)?
I will check that all out on your site soon, it will soon be time for another pouch. :-)

Okay I lied, LOL
I have one more question. I really really like the Kookaburra one, I think that is my next one. :-) But I always prefer a silky lining. Could you make it with a silky black polyester lining as I see some of the others have? Would that change the price?

Or if that seems to be out of stock can you do change the linings on them and does it change the price...

Hi Bar,
The Kookaburra bag has gone to an art gallery for an exhibition starting on Sunday. I'm not sure I have more of that fabric, but I'll check.
I can't really change the lining in my bags once they're made - they're all hand stitched. But so long as I have the fabric I can make them with a different lining.
I'm not sure if you still want this now, but if you let me know, I'll have a look out for the fabric for you. :)
Mail to Canada should take around a week.

Thanks for getting back to me.:-)
Actually I ordered one last night, the Morning Light one. I thought it was really pretty too. Australia is so far away, I ordered it early to make sure it comes by the holidays. LOL Now Melanie says it should come in about one week.:-)
But if you can find me a kookaburra one, let me know and I will take that too. I love that one and I know for sure this deck will not be my last.:-)

Bardia, I ordered a Morning Light bag as well ! So one is wending its way to Canada as we speak and another is en route for England. ! That's another thing I love about this Forum-it's so INTERNATIONAL. And you get to meet very lovely and creative people through it, too.
