Hello,
I love the symbolism of the tarot cards, and my favorite arcana is the magician. But I can't remember why we can see only 3 legs of the table ?
I only remember that it is important.
Can somebody help ?
Thx

Hi Firekeeper!
When discussing symbolism on a card, it's always useful to mention which deck you're talking about. I assume you're talking about Le Bateleur from the Tarot de Marseille? There's a wonderful thread about him in the Historical section of this Forum that also talks about the three legs of the table - you can read about it here.
I have a book about the Tarot de Marseille called Ombres et Lumières du Tarot (Shadows and Lights of the Tarot) by Carole Sédillot and this is what she says about the table: "The search for balance in everything is one of the challenges offered to the Bateleur. A spirit opened to the quest for the fourth dimension and the deep desire of discovering this, make an initiate of man."
People always have different opinions about symbols, so you'll probably come across a lot more interpretations!

*Edited to add a link to Le Bateleur from the Hadar Tarot de Marseille in case people are curious to see him :).*

Thanks for the links ! I will take time to read the entire thread later, but it seems very interesting.
And yes, I was talking about the Tarot de Marseille. I tend to forget that there are plenty of them, because I use mainly this one, and one adapted from it.
Edit : I cannot access the second link, it seems I don't have the permissions :(
