what is the main uk certificate for tarot readers that is accepted in schools and colleges. i have been told by the college where i teach, that for teaching the next course i need to be certified as a tarot reader.

Have you tried asking the college what certification they would regard as acceptable? I don't think that there is a single 'acceptable' certification, in fact tarot reading seems to be entirely unregulated.

But you could try the TABI website as I believe that they have a course for readers that may lead to certification.

Good luck with whatever you decide to go for!

Unless the two organisations in the UK themselve mention to the respective College that there is not accredited certification to be a Tarot reader (rather than leap at the opportunity to legitimise their respective current direction), it seems that you may have a difficult time arguing your case.

Precisely one of the consequences mentioned in one of the other threads.

I don't think a certificate in 'Tarot reading' could be of any use to a prospective client, which is surely the main purpose of having such a certificate.

But... for teaching Tarot, surely a college does have the right to ask for some qualifications. There are some basics which all would-be Tarot teachers should be aware of, such as the known history, the different types of decks, influential personalities, and reading techniques.

I wouldn't see a problem with such a certification.
