I have a shelf full of ones I thought I would love, but are sitting on a shelf. Just a few of them are:
Tarot Of Love (Marcia Perry) Love the colors, the art & the cranes, but for the life of me, I just can't read with it.
Motherpeace: I really love the art, but reading with a round deck isn't my forte' -- and I bought several of the books that go with it at the same time. That's the last time I'll spend $100 in ten minutes.
Tarot of Prague -- I bought it in Brighton, but traded it within a week of returning to the states. It's beautiful, but the texture and various art styles was a bit too chaotic for me.
Morgan Greer: I love the art, but it just doesn't talk to me.
Tarot of Hellen: Again, bought in Brighton. I love the colors and the use of plants, but it has unillustrated pips which is a first for me. I'll bring it out again next year. :-)
Greenwood: I finally got the book for it, but it's still very difficult for me to read with. I love the art, the colors and even the keywords, so I'll have another go at reading with it next year.
A surprise discovery (in case there's a "thought you wouldn't like but love thread) is the Guardian Tarot. Originally the dark colors put me off a bit, but I just had a great reading with it today. :-)

I wouldn't worry about it. There is something you love about each of those decks . Isn't that enough? Do they have to DO something ? Let them lie there and be lovely . Look at them for inspiration if they aren't easy for you to read with . In time their function may change for you - you may change .

Oh my goodness Ivy.. I really have too many too. But I loath to get rid of any of them. I go in cycles with favorites. A deck that I do not think I can read today, may become my favorite reading deck next week.
Like Dark Inquisitor says, there is something about each one of them that you love right? That is enough for me ;)
I use my "non reading decks" for comparative study as well. Sometimes, I just like to look at the pretty pictures :)
I would not stress about it, I think we all have those moments of deck splurge. :D:D:D

Dark Inquisitor,
Very true indeed. They are part of my journey, and there is something about each of them I enjoy. You are so right, they don't have to DO anything. :-) Thank you for your wisdom. I never looked at it this way before. And I'm looking forward to the coming changes. :-)

Hi Majecot :-)
Thank you so much! :-) I do love something about each of them and never thought about using them for comparative readings. :-) Now that I think about it, I do go in cycles with my decks too. I hadn't realized it yet until I read your reply.:-) I have been very frustrated lately because I haven't found "the" deck and was actually considering letting go of most of them. But that's changed now. Thanks to you and Dark Inquisitor, I am going to liberate them from their shelf in the closet (even my German Vision Quest) and start giving them the respect they deserve. Now I can't imagine trading them and I'm sure my collection will continue to grow. :-) Thank you and Dark Inquisitor for your wisdom. 'Tis a very happy day indeed. :-)
