Ok, I got the quest tarot for christmas, and I used its yes/no feature. It seemed like it was pretty good (and as I've said before, yes/no spreads are my favorite kinds :) ), but my question is:
How much should I trust it?
It seems like a simple question, but it isn't.
Anyway, the spread was about if I will get into Cornell University, and it said yes.

I'd trust it as much as you would any other deck. But why not ask a few more things that could be more useful to you, like--
SHOULD I GET INTO THE UNIVERSITY--
1. What do I need to focus on most
2. Where will the main problem lie for me
3. What do I need to be aware of (for good or bad)
4. What is my strongest warning
5. What must I focus on in myself to make things go well
etc. (you get the drift) It does give you more to work with.

I don't trust yes/no spreads. It seems to take all of the responsibility off the querent's shoulders, and nobody learns anything. UNLESS you are actually interpreting the cards to find out the answer rather than using an arbitrary formula. I think there are much more constructive ways to use the Tarot, and all of HudsonGray's questions above would sit much better with me.
Okay, maybe it's not that I don't trust them, but I certainly don't like them.
Peace,
April

Most of the time, with the tarot, you end up with more questions than answers.

Is there really any yes/no in life? Nothing is ever simple.

I don't usually bond with a new deck straight away (Unless you count the Morgan Greer and the DruidCraft :) )
So I don't think I would be comfortable asking such an important question with just a yes/no answer to such a new deck. Maybe doing a full spread after asking your question or use the deck for a while then try the yes/no daggers.

Indeed ~ Paradox faces a dilemma...
if the deck says to trust it ~ can he?

Hi Fulgour,
If it was me asking the question then no I wouldn't trust a new deck. I've been using my new DruidCraft all week now but I am really still getting to know it - I won't be asking any life altering questions soon. :) - I know they are only tools but the bond has to be made and that only comes with use and knowing the deck.

Hi Emily,
I think that the questions Paradox asks are
supposed to be "impossible" to answer :joke:
He has been very creative with his enigmas.
