Hi all, question for you experienced traders.
I've been lusting after a couple of decks and I thikn it makes the most sense for me to accrue the funds by selling off decks I haven't used in years.
So the question is: What is a fair asking price for in-print decks? 70% of cover price? 50%? Whne people can get the deck new what kind of discount should they receive for a pre-owned deck?
Thank you.

OMG how long is your collection list. Hmmm, have been soooo good with only one deck, methinks I might just have to volunteer to take some of your decks!!!!

I don't know what is considered fair, but if it was a deck I really wanted, I'd pay 50-70% of the retail price. I don't mind pre-owned decks; I think it gives them more character.

Sahde,
I was thinking the same thing...I have some I haven't used. I was going to look at ebay for prices, but they seem inflated...SO would it be 50-75% plus shipping? What if it is a rare deck? Or an OOP deck?

It depends on how you're doing it, and who you're dealing with. I'd probably be willing to pay 50-70% if it was a deck I really wanted (Like Tarot of the Old Path) but if it was a deck I was only interested in checking out (like the Cosmic one) I'd probably pay closer to 50%. (This is assuming of course, that the decks are still in reasonably fair condition.)

Copy that,Laura B.!!!! Shade; canNot wait to see your decks -4 -sell if you indeed decide to go that way. (I buy lotsa' mine here. ) Yeah, 50% & a little over are fair asking prices for used decks. Hope to see you soon! (Edited to add:Now oop & rare editions; that is of course a different story, & would depend on the deck itself. Like the name, condition of, year of print, etc.)

Thanks for the tip smokey. I've got some rare and oop and some dupes...but until the weather changes from below freezing to a nice spring day...they will just stay snuggly warm in my cabinet! (as I wil be under my covers with the heat turned up! ;) )
