Has the Tarot talked to you?

Ok not actually talk talked but as good as!! In this way.During a period of my life when Ibecame more interested in what the Tarot could say to me I began to turn up one particular card in this case 9 of coins in the Morgan Greer pack. When I looked at this card which shows an exotic woman in a multicoloured dress I began to see that a person would come into my life and change it. Even shuffling and then turning card over frequently turned this card over so that I eventually felt the cards were playing with me it felt so unusual. Then of course I met her and knew her as she wore multicoloured clothes. So I spoke to her and she did change my life.As far as bieng exotic which was in my interpretation she proved to have a mixture of european roots. The point is I was able to look back as I keep a Tarot diary and my certainty about the description prove eerie. So why not should the Tarot speak to those who use them frequently.Even when they only listen when it is repeated.Maybe of course the Tarot will reciprocate its use , care and trust.G

Very cool experience, gareth! Somewhere here there's a thread of "literal meanings" where people posted times when the card image needed no interpretation--it showed exactly the person or situation.

I've had the tarot talk to me in a slightly different way--a dialogue. This happens mostly with the Osho Zen deck where I say something, turn over a card and it's a response, I speak again and the next card is a response. It's a real dialogue with the deck and quite amazing!

As you say, the tarot reciprocates care and trust.

Great story Gareth!

Sometimes cards are not so cool, but equally literal. A few years ago, in a reading about my mother's last job, a job which made her uncomfortable, she drew, as an outcome card, the 7 of pentacles. I had trouble interpreting it, saying there was a general atmosphere of mistrust and sneakiness in the office. A few months later, her boss was arrested for embezzling. Turned out a few of his employees were in on the graft. My mother was questioned by police, but eventually cleared. The others are all in prison now. Taught me a thing or two about literal meanings and actually LOOKING at the cards (man stealing swords, duh).

The Tarot is quite the blabbermouth . It has warned me of things to come, made jokes at my expense, insulted my relatives , and has generally been watching over me , it seems. Most recently it is telling me to tighten up security around my home.

To know what deck is a blabermouth? We are obviously talking relationships here!!

Yes the Tarot has definitely talked to me. I meditated on one card for more than a year, the Death card. and the transformative information coming from that card was utterly amazing.

I appreciate the conversations you guys are relating. It's fascinating, all the many ways that one can relate to the Tarot!

Well, any deck can be really . But mostly the RWS while I was moving and my other decks were packed. The pictures trigger rapid fire associations and they string together nicely. Which was probably the original intention.

For example, I was being tormented by a real estate agent while staying temporarily in my brother's empty house that was for sale. He was the bane of my existence. Rude, incompetent, lying old man !! One morning I woke way too early and did my daily spread . The card of the Unexpected was the King of Wands. HIM. And one of the other cards was the 7 of Wands - I immediately saw this as him trying to beat his way in !! 3 of Wands rx beneath that = he wasn't going to call to tell me he was coming ! This seemed too fantastical to me. But, trusting my deck, I got fully dressed before I laid back down for more sleep.

Sure enough, at 10am that nasty old man was standing in the middle of the living room yelling !! He insisted he was there to run an open house he had never bothered to tell me about. He had beat his way past the chair I had stuck under the doorknob to keep people from walking in on me and scaring the hell out of me. That day, chains went on the doors . And I watch the daily spreads very carefully.

When I'm sufulling cards or puting them in a spred I've had cards jump, fly and schid, out of the stack demand my attention. Sometimes in groups sometimes individually, if I try to move on with out sharing them I usually get a bunch of jiborish or the cards will keep coming up till I show them do repect. I am much better at sensing when the cards really have a message now.

Many purrrs,

you say the cards, have made jokes at your expense. thank goodness, i thought i was the only one. and blabbermouth, i mentioned in another post, how they sometimes talk in riddles. you know how i mean, like yoda in star wars, or the chesire cat from alice. this really ticks me off, i can almost hear them laughing. honestly i had this happen recently, a friend was asking about a job change, the cards pulled were the wheel/fortune, 2 of cups, 6 of swords and the fool, (i don't remember what order or what the other cards were), anyway what they were saying was that only a fool would stay. but, the order they were in, (plus the other cards), actually read something like "take a spin, if movement comes, a fool will stay." smart*@@ cards. but, you have to love their sense of humor.

Haha, thats soo funny, this reminds me to read more closely ;)

but do you y'all read the card where the deck is cut? Especially for me and considering a very special boy the 'Knight of Cups' almost always turn up in readings about my relationship with him..

Any other of you had experiences with that..? :)

Where did my signature go..!?

I received my first deck, Connolly Tarot, Sept 14/04 and started working through the exercises in Connolly's Tarot: A New Handbook for the Apprentice. I was just doing one of the first exercises in which you shuffle only the numbered cards of the Minor Arcana, then deal them one at a time, focusing on the meaning of the card's suit - at this point you aren't supposed to know anything about the numbers. It seems the cards already had other ideas: the first one up was the Ace of Swords (I would read "the beginning of new intellectual ideas"), followed closely by the Ace of Pentacles ("the beginning of a successful venture"), with the Ace of Cups right after ("the beginning of new spiritual insight and sensitivity"). The cards were very well shuffled, and the aces were definitely not together when they came out of the box. It was a very encouraging start!

And in later readings, as others have mentioned, cards with cheeky humour, cards that jump out in pairs demanding to be read, and theme cards that keep popping up. Oh, and a very sulky Tarot for Cats Majors Only deck that treated me with utter disdain when I dared to ask it a merely mundane question.:)

Ha ha! I have had them talk to me! The funnest was when I first got my deck. I was doing like my third reading for my friend. And I started shuffling kind of just mixing up deck. When she asked me a question, and we started talking. Through about a min of the conversation I was shuffling in perfect rhythm when I missed the deck and through half the cards on the bed. I felt kind of silly but when I went to go get them they where all face down but one which was laying on top. The Seven of cups...so I looked up the meaning.

(Hopes no one heard that she did that! It was when I first started out and had not learned to listen to my inner voice.)

And the caption read..."Too many things on mind, Focus!" I laughed so hard I almost fell off the bed! :)
