Reading that never came out

has anyone ever done a reading and it came out just the opposite of what was read? Not sure if this can be rated as an odd question...but it's one of those..oh wow this is what can happen and say the house falls apart instead?? Lol..okay okay..I'm a devil's advocate.

I can't say a reading hasn't come out "opposite", but has often been not what I've expected. Namely I'd be doing a spread for some sort of self enlightenment, or so I thought, but life happened instead. Wish I could think of a good example for this...it was back when I was first getting started reading Tarot, so that is happened this way is no real surprise...now. But it certainly blew me away at the time. I can think of one...3 Swords showed up around New Year's last year and I couldn't figure out what the heck it meant. I thought that it might be a conflict with my partner that ended in major heartbreak and instead it turned out to be a major toothache that had to be pulled. I freaked at the thought of losing teeth, kicking myself for not flossing better and any of the other things I've done that brought this situation about. In the end all I could do was submit and accept the fact that I couldn't save that tooth and a couple more, but changing my habits can prevent further loss. Actually things like this happen a lot to me...I think I know what a spread is telling me and it turns out to be something else that is exactly the way the cards laid it out, I simply couldn't see it at the time of the reading because I was focusing on something else.

I didn't know if this was a silly question or not..but it I was reflecting on an "ongoing" reading that is going on right now and went..hmm...what if just the opposite actually happen...
