Readings

curious how everyone does their reading...if I'm doing an initial reading for someone that I can't see in person, I either ask for a picture, bday, personal description, etc. so I can get a feel of them initially. I've even contemplated keeping an index card with info so when they need a reeading, I can just "pull it up".

It is an interesting point, bladeraven ~ The important person is the querent. Most of the reading I do is here so I never see the Querent. I try to think of them.. Also to quieten my mind so that whatever needs to happen can happen. Sometimes I will do a special ritual.

never thought about that...I guess for me..it's wanting to have that personal touch so I can make sure I can get an accurate reading...always so worry about being off.

I try not to get to much direct infromtion like birth days, partly becuase I'm bad with dates and numbers. So insted I ask whats your element of your birth or sun sign in astrology there are three signs in every (4)element: Fire=Leo, Aries, Sagittarius Air=Gemini, Libra, Aquarius Water= Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces Earth=Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn now I know the qualities of these elemental persenality types and so do most people if you think about it. Think Earthy person and what do you get? and so on... if the seeker does not know their birth sign I look at the cards for suits or pips, are there a lot of one element? that may be a clue? I have been able to look at some people and guess their element. Anyway, because I do not ask for their sign (I share the above list and have them tell me what their element is) most feel it is a more honest reading it seems, plus I do not get as stuck in say the mind frame "OH, your Cancer so your sensitivity most be geetting in the way......." Most of my readings for others are online. I try to be as receptive as I possibly can. I used to look (if I was at Aeclectic) at the person's profile, but I actually found that can be misleading and I was better off knowing nothing than something that didn't help matters. I think we can be thrown off course by impressions that are too superficial. It's important to realize there are depths we don't see or understand in people whom we know and speak to everyday. So I simply meditate or focus (loosely) on the querent as a whole person. Nevada

Besides the elements, I focus or that is I unfocus on the physical around me, focusing on the energy imeditily around the seeker and myself and then I turn inward and feel if I get a physical sensation or thoughts, ect. this is where I get my best info, finaly or while I'm tuning in, I look at the cards and see what cames as I look at the spred. many purrrs, CloeCat
