I was thrilled to see the Phantom of the Opera...
I'm talking about the 2004 Movie version...some of you probably saw the earlier versions...a friend of ours who collects odd nostalgia even has a vintage 'rock opera' variant of a similar theme called Phantom of the Paradise made in 1974...
It was amusing to think if this was a tarot, bits of the scenes from Lo Scarabeo Tarot of the Gothic Vampires (Rose petals, stained glass window, swooning heroine scenes, cemetary headstones, fog); Secrets Tarot (young couples, stern knights with shaded profiles, night scenes with dark hair reflected off the moon), Casanova Tarots (the non-tryst scenes where costumed masks might be shown or period cityscapes)....you can tell I really enjoyed the music!
Got a movie-oracle-music match? Or any other suggestions of what would have been a period French/Italian tarot match? Maybe an Etteilla for the 1870s time period when the movie was set?
Regards,
Cerulean
P.S. I found this fantastic essay that links archetypes to Phantom of the Opera versions:

Maybe Tarot of the Gothic Vampires or Secrets (Lo Scarabeo) can work as a scenic storyboard...
