I'm trying to figure out something to do with a game series I play, which uses the major arcana as the basis for the powers that control that world. They call these True Runes. I was wondering if you might give me some insight to which Tarot these sound like:
Rune of Beginning: A True Rune representing the "initial chaos of birth" inherent in times of creation.is said that the rune grants its owner the power to "judge war."
I think this represents the Fool, which signifies each of our beginnings. As he journies, he gains the knowledge of the other tarots as he interacts, so at the end of his journey he could be a wise judge of all conflicts. Does this sound right?
Blue Moon Rune: A Rune representing compassion and destruction, it also is sometimes said to represent Compassion and Cruelty, or the union of opposites. The bearer will lose control of themselves when they take first bearing this rune and must fight for mastery over it.
I am not sure on this one, perhaps the Empress (both right side up and inversed)
Rune of Change: A True Rune representing change that affects all in the universe.
Unsure of which this could be. Several seem to represent change. Perhaps Wheel?
Circle Rune: A True Rune representing order and stagnation. I'm pretty sure this represents the Hierophant.
Eightfold Rune: Unknown Power (Eightfold does stand for absolute chaos in Eastern thought, however).
I'm pretty sure on this one, as well. I believe it's the Tower, which stands for sudden change and disaster if I understand properly.
Beast rune: A True Rune representing animalistic rage and passion.
This could represent the Devil correct or Strength?
Dragon Rune: Represents Will, Control, and responsibility.
Possibly Chariot.
Gate Rune: A True Rune with the power to connect worlds, this rune holds great powers.
I'm fairly certain this stands for the World Tarot.
Night Rune: A True Rune representing the "power of the night," this rune allows "creatures of the night," such as zombies, skeletons, and vampires to exist. However, it also has the ability to destroy them.
I think this is the Moon Tarot. It represents our fears (monsters) but also gives us the ability to overcome them.
Sovereign Rune:A True Rune representing aboslute rule and authority.
This is the Emperor Tarot.
Rune of Punishment:Gives great power to its bearer while eating away at the bearer's lifeforce. It is said that it hunts down and punishes "wrong doing" but can give absolution.
Sounds like Judgement to me.
What are your thoughts on these? Thanks in advance for any help.

Vov Birra: Welcome to Talking Tarot!
I am ignorant of games other than the board or card games; however, is this a computer &/or role-playing genre?
Based on the names of the Runes & your descriptions I see the following possibles:
Rune of Beginning: The Fool, for the personal association with birth & rebirth. As mentioned in your post, The Fool can be seen as a traveler (soul) beginning a journey.
Blue Moon Rune: The High Priestess or The Moon. In the former: the colour blue associated with the High Priestess & to represent wisdom; access to wisdom & mastery of same. Conversely could denote madness; mental imbalance. In the latter: the illusory, the hidden & usually pertains to unconscious/inner knowledge; the emotions or emotional realm. Conversely, delusion or deception & also indicative of imbalances. In Moon lore, the Blue Moon historically a rarity but is the second of two full moons within a month. It last occurred July 31, 2004 with the first occurring July 2, 2004.
Rune of Change: Wheel of Fortune, also known as the Wheel of Change. The traditional card associated with life changes of various types in all of the life's aspects.
Circle Rune: The World, as the "last" of the Major Arcana. The beginning & the end (the alpha & the omega) represented by the circle shape. Also representative of completion; the expression "to come full circle"; journey's end.
Eightfold Rune: Strength. In the Aleister Crowley Thoth deck, named "Lust", which relates more to the raw regenerative life force--the kundalini--sometimes represented as a serpent or snake. It is also associated with balance; mastery in the earthly plane. Passion. (Does not Eightfold refer to absolute power?)
Beast Rune: The traditional "christian" Devil (& not necessarily associated with the Pagan horned god). See above comment on "Lust" which could apply to Beast Rune as Strength.
Dragon Rune: The Chariot agreed, mainly for lack of another that would seem to fit; however, The Chariot not usually associated with the element of fire as would be attributed to "Dragon" but of control, drive, motivation, determination.
Gate Rune: Death. Passage from one place, cycle or venue to another.
Night Rune: The Moon, "the ruler" of the night time (since The Sun can be seen as the ruler of the day time).
Sovereign Rune: The Emperor.
Rune of Punishment: Justice, the great equalizer; the Law of Cause of Effect. Judgement may have similar qualities but more of relinquishing the past through realization/integration of a higher understanding or consciousness; turning over a new leaf.

Suikoden - True Runes and Tarot
Many have come to the conclusion that the Runes seem to be based on the Tarot Deck's 22 major arcanas, which would make sense if the 5 elements are excluded from the list... The meanings change depending on what school of tarot your prescribe to, and I doubt the Suikoden team would have gone that deep into the meanings of the decks if this was ever the source of ideas for True Runes. Thus, it would be best to just associate them with first impressions.
0) The Fool; Rune of Change
1) The Magician
2) The High Priestess
3) The Empress
4) The Emperor; Sovereign Rune
5) The Hierophant; Circle Rune
