When I'm finished a reading, I give the client a free angel card to take
with them.
What could be sold with your service of a reading?
~ incense
~ soaps
~ crystals or stones
~ jewelry
Any other ideas?

When a friend decided to do 5 card readings she did a mockup of the spread with card positions listed under little squares and photocopied that off a dozen times. Then she stuck one on a clipboard & had a pen with it, the person getting the reading could record what card was in which position and any notes they wanted to take on the reading. It went fairly well, if she pulled a clarification card the person would just write it in.
At an outdoor event she had a bunch of tumbled pebbles, which were put on the cards to keep them from blowing away in the wind. At the end of the reading her customers could take one tumbled stone with them of their choice.
But I've also heard of people tape recording the session and then giving the tape to the client for playing back later. You'd need a stack of 46 minute cassettes which are cheap enough to get in sets of 4 at most stores.

Hi Ros
I don't have clients as of yet, but I've had a few readings at home, I just offer them a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits or cakes if I have any.
Most of the readings I've been too over here, they have them taped, although the client will bring their own tape.
Pens are a good idea, especially with your name and phone no on it, so you are always with them, or fridge magnets with your name and number, something that they will always have contact with so they can pass it on to someone else.

Let's see.
I offer them three decks to look at while
I get "ready."
I leave them with the decks for about 5 mintues...ask if they would like something to drink and offer water, lemonade, ...or whatever else I might have ready in the fridge...non-alcoholic.
Then I take out a pad and a pencil and put it next to them and welcome them to take notes.
I light a scented candle...if I remember.
If I use my own spread...I have a sheet all printed up with the five positions...and hand them that to fill in with card drawn, if they choose to do so.
As our time draws to a close, I take the cards, put them back together and back into the velvet bag....
Send them home with a couple of my flyers...
So far...that's about it...
I know there'll be some great ideas from others, so I'll check back in with this thread!

Ummm
let's see, I email a free monthly newsletter to my list of clients. This helps them remember me plus enjoy some free information.
For regular clients I do a free birthday reading via email. It always comes to them as a pleasant surprise.
Depending on the weather, I offer chilled water, pepsi or steaming hot tea along with my readings.
Since I'm learning numerology and a bit about crystals n gems, I try and give them information on that as well eg if a tarot spread has three 4's , or if I feel a client would benefit from a piece of amethyst under their pillow.

My aunt who has been reading for years also sells candles and herbs, she makes her own blends for tea, some of them very delicious.

The fancy-schmancy stuff is a nice touch but give them a business card or two or five to give to others and build up your client base, or just so the querent has your number in case they want another reading!
Have your business card turned into cheapo refrigerator magnets and give one to each Querent.

Business cards are the easiest, cheapest, and best way to go. Carry some everywhere with you - shopping, travelling, etc. they fit easily into little metal holders that fit in your pocket, purse, in with the deck you like to carry around, etc. If you are standing in line at the movies or at a concert - who knows how many business cards you can hand out! Have a little holder of them on your table if you do a psychic or other fair; that way if you are temorarily not at your table the cards are available to the public.

I offer them the chance to throw rocks at me if I'm wrong on my readings...just kidding...lol
I write down their readings and give a copy to them as reference...I do a reference sheet and photocopy them dayplanner size so they can have one too.
