Didn't feel this went into Decks since it isn't about a specific deck. I was just reading about each of the cards in my Gilded deck and while reading about Judgement I got this hairbrain idea. Has anyone ever made their own mixed deck before from decks you have?
Lots of times people get a deck that has several beautiful cards and several that the art on it or something they don't like. Well speaking of Tarot decks mainly, since a lot of them could be interchangable because they have the same cards/meanings.....what if you took the cards that appealed to you/you understood the most and put them together to make your own unique appealing deck.
Sounds silly huh, but seems interesting. I bet people with lots of decks lying around they don't use much anymore because they never connected with them could do this and might come up with a deck/system that would work.

Hi Seapearls,
That's not a harebrained idea at all! I have several friends who have built their own decks from their favorite cards. Some of us folks are artistically challenged and since the Stick People Tarot has already been done, when we get to the point that we actually want to create our own deck, we're at a loss. (As a musician, I write songs for the cards - so I have an "aural" deck - but I can't draw, paint, or even crayon to save my life!)
One technique is to scan the cards that you want to use, size them to a common size, then print the new deck and laminate.
I say, go for it.

I have not mixed decks to make my own, but I use several decks at times in combination to do readings. For example, I might have a base question and use one deck. Then I develop underpinning questions and use another deck or so.
Have fun -- sounds like a good idea to try.
