I was wondering for those who work on them or have friends who do, how does one go about finding employment with a line?
Thanks in advance!

i used them to heal once, you could try to find a line under what you like to do, the follow and narrow down the catorgys as you run across them. I can not tell you how I did what i did, but i can say it was a trust of spirit, i had no idea how got there. Th likes all cross at different point and can try from a person as a start point. i dont know if this helps.
simply put, visulive goal and should find. at least from my experance.
The Doc.
stones have them too to help learn, simply find were two lay lines interscet.

Hi TA
A couple of my friends work on the lines. NZ would be simillar to Australia. But I know that you just ring up Telecom and they'll send you a pack for 0900 lines. From memory it wasn't that expensive to set up. The cost of putting in another phone line to your house. Telecom would send a cheque to you once a month. It was quite simple actually. The cost was in advertising. Or else just ring a existing line and you can choose days and hours, they'd take a percentage.
Midsummer has a thread on psychic lines as she works in one, she lives in Sth Australia so she might be able to help you.

Does anyone in UK do this, and how did they get started? Is it expensive to set up here?

Hi, I use to work for a company in which you sign up with them and sale your service, like if you are a tarot reader you set up an account on line with them you receive calls and they get a % of what you make, you set you own hours to recieve the calls.I might start working with them again because i have learned a lot with them. Hi TemperanceAngel,
I have posted a thread on this topic an are happy to answer any questions. I am not sure how to begin on the lines where your at. The main cost of these lines is the enormous cost of advertising, after all if nobody knows about the line no calls can come in. My personal belief based on many years of tarot reading and studying is that to do it you have to have much life experience, extensive counselling skills and most of all an extensive knowledge of tarot reading. You do not have the luxury of body language and answers have to be snappy for want of a better word as people are paying top dollar. Your intuitions need to be at peak performance. Many will give little to you in the way of information as they believe your psychic ability should work it out. It is bloody hard believe me. Think deeply on your own skills before attempting to do it and watch out for working for someone who just wants you to keep the person on the line for $$$$$$$$$.
Good luck to you Mid x

Thanks Tara Deck, I am in Australia so I can't use that....such is the life of an international Forum ;) Wish they had something like in Oz, sounds great!
But I am still interested in those who are/have worked on lines :D What kinda spreads did you use? How would you compare it to say a half hour reading from a shop?
Who has had an phone reading? Any comments?
I don't actually want to set one up, perhaps just work from one :)

I've done a phone reading on my own home phone. I just explain that it's going to be an overview and not necessarily as in depth as if the person had come to see me. Usually just do a 3 card past, present and future.
I wasn't charging for the reading tho, so I suppose that makes a difference.

lol Sue, very funny  I didn't really mean the readings we do for friends over the phone....but the ones actually on the 'phone lines'....the paid ones :)
midsummer, what kind of spreads do you use on the phone lines?

It depends, some people ask for "a spread", then I do celtic cross, or I do past present future.

I'd love to get on the phone line ones, but haven't got a clue how to do it here in UK. Must be hard to give an in-depth reading. Without keeping them hanging on forever and clocking up a huge bill I mean!

I have some stories to add:
I rang a phone line and said I didn't want a reading but would like to work for a line and got the number of the person who ran it. I rang her and she said she would ring me back over the next few days....she rang half an hour later and said for me to call her at 7:30pm.....she was very abrupt and rude....I rang at 7:30pm and she asked me to do a reading for her, I started to and was really not enjoying the situation at all, when her mobile got cut off....she rang back and I didn't answer as I found her so rude and wouldn't want to work for someone like that! I put a spread down straight away and the cards didn't look that great....
That same day I got a new age mag. and the only thing under the empolyment section was a job for Tarot/Psychic Lines....I rang and the woman wasn't there. I spoke to her just now and she was so lovely and helpful...makes a difference. So now I have to do two phone readings for them and then I can start work ;)

wow that's great TA. And I know the clients you get, won't be wasting there money, good to know that they'll have a genuine and sincere reader! Ooh you will have to let us know how it goes.
will you be working from home? That's even better!
I had a good friend who worked on the phone line, she sometimes would refund a cheque to a client if she thought the person couldn't afford it, or else she'd ring them back...but I don't think she does it anymore, I haven't seen her advertised for a long while now, but she was very accurate.
I know another lady too, who owned alot of the psychic lines here in NZ. She was on $30,000 a month!
Night time seems to be a very busy time for readers apparently.
but I'm happy for you! Cool!

Thanks PR :)
Yes you work from home and you choose your own hours :D Basically what happens is you have a PIN no. and you log in and log out of it. If you get people who like you then they can get your number.. You use your own phone line.....ummmm....they send you a cheque every month. Pretty cool huh? Would be a good job for you PR, you could do it at night!
Basically it sounds like working from a shop: you get people who want quick answers or who want to spend quite awhile, people who are chatty, people who say nothing etc. :)
I actually like working at night and this is a safe way to do it :) Also I'll try anything once!
