This is probably going to sound like a strange thing to post, but I was just thinking about it and how it is helping me, so I thought 'why not?' ...
Above my pc, on the wall, I have a magnetic/wipe board; the kind that you fasten scraps of paper, reminders and photos to with small round magnets - like a pin board, but magnetic. Also, it has a special pen that you can write on it with and wipe away afterwards.
Earlier today, I was working on a spread for Elf; at the moment, I have little space to lay out readings. It dawned on me that I had two RWS decks. After working with my main one, I attatched the cards to the magnetic board with the small magnets in their right positions. Everytime I came into the room, the board was there with the spread to look at. Everytime a fresh thought came to mind or a saw a relationship between the pictures, I jotted it around the images on the board.
I really found this helped; having the cards up there to look at; also that I could jot bits around them and when the reading was over, could start all over again. Just thought I would pass this on as it helps me to have readings that take some time in a place where they can not be interfered with; you look at them in a different way when they are on the wall as well.
Just wanted to share.
Regards

I often leave my readings spread out on the table for days afterwards, so I can return to it and find new details and that I may have missed before. I always find more revealed with each visit to the spread, and I usually come away with very detailed and meaningful readings that have many dimensions and levels of interpretation. I think using a magnetic board is a marvelous way to keep your spreads intact for further evaluation.

I'm really "attracted" to that great idea, LittleBuddha!
I often put the cards from a reading in plastic sleaves in my Tarot binder, so I can take them with me and ponder them during my travels to/from work.

Hello.........what a wonderful idea about the magnetic board! Just a word of caution. Magnets and computers do NOT play well together. A magnet can wipe a hard drive clean in a split second...........so please don't put the magnets too close to your computer! Peace and blessings.........Michael

Thanks Tarobones ... they are far enough out of harms way but will keep that in mind ... cheers for letting me know.

Thanks for posting that Tarobones - I didn't realise that magnets could do that - I've already lost the entire contents of my hard dive once this week - don't want it to happen again.

Hey, what about a magnetic tarot deck set???
I'm sure someone could manufacture a deck of magnet-backed cards for putting on just such a board.

Symbolic Arts makes small tarot card magnet sets of 15 of the same cards from different decks. For example, I have 15 of their Magician card magnets on my fridge!

I know you can get magnetic bumper-sticker backs, it may be worthwhile to stick a deck to something like that (the magnetic backing is thin enough to be trimmed with scissors).
Shuffling would be a pain, though...

What a neat idea, LittleBuddha! Like magnetic poetry but with tarot. This would be a great solution for me. I can't usually leave spreads out because of my dear (playful) kitty.

This is a great idea. I have very little table room but lots of wall space. And it could very decorative too! Thanks for posting this, LittleBuddha.

I'm busily thinking about what mini deck I will buy to glue to flexible magnet sheets! They will look fantastic on the side of my (otherwise too large and ugly) fridge! With a regular-sized deck, it would be great for teaching, too! (uh, oh. I just got a vision of a class jammed into my kitchen staring at my ugly fridge! You know that's not what I meant . . .)

I am glad that you are all considering the posibilities. Mine really does look quite swish on the wall. My spread is still there, untouched and ready to work on. Just to add, I popped into Paperchase today and bought some magnets - they look pretty much like the batteries you get in watches - small, round and silver. Very inexpensive - £1 for ten. They are nice and small so don't obscure the pictures. Just thought I would let you know.
