I have a friend who does this, although it is an extension
of the many specialized services he offers. Convenience
is one of the main features, and that personal touch too.

Assuming you are asking about Tarot readings here,
you might want to take note of how many different
offerings a site is providing, usually quite a few too.
Tarot readings, etc.,etc.,etc., kind of says it all. :)

Hi Midsummer
It is obvious that you are really interested in this line of work, as Fulgour mentioned, 3 threads on the same question! But if you are interested in having a business in this line of work, you only need to ring up Telecom and they will send you out a information pack on setting up your own line. I don't think it's that expensive to set up.
Or else you could ring a existing psychic line and ask if you could work for them.
But in general if you are asking about what they are like, you might get a couple who are genuine, but alot of them read from the book and tick up alot of money at your expense! If you are wanting a reading from someone, you are best to go to a local experienced reader. would you rather pay $50 for an hour or $50 for 20 minutes(phone)
Unless you can find a genuine and good telehone reader, I wouldn't waste my time or money!

I actualy work on a tarot/psychic line. I have read face to face for a long time and prefer to do this but lack a suitable safe venue to read. My apologies for puting my post in the wrong spot! I understand the problem of many of these lines being a money making process rather than a place to offer insights and new perspectives on issues.I value the opinion of people in this forum as I can see a genuine culture of professionalism exists. Thank you for any input and I hope I have expressed myself well enough this time.

Hi Midsummer,
And welcome to AT.
Thankyou for explaining your situation more clearly, you are obviously experienced, and look forward to sharing with you.
I noticed you are in South Australia. When you say 'safe environment', is that because people there are a little bit anti-tarot?
How do you find telephone readings? is it easier?, or do you feel rushed when giving a reading?
Is there a common question that clients ask?
A friend of mine worked on a psychic line, she was actually very good and very genuine. Sometimes she would send a cheque back to the client, if she knew they couldn't afford it, or she'd ring them herself? That is not very common at all. She charged the least of all the psychic lines. $1.50 per minute, most others charged $4.95 per minute.
Although for myself personally, I would give it a go, if I knew I could do it. Some people prefer different styles of reading, like online, telephone or face to face! I prefer online at the moment. So will have to give a telephone reading ago too! Anyone want to ring me in NZ and see if I can do a telephone reading? I won't charge you..lol

Greetings Phoenix and all others. I find the telephone lines very challenging Phoenix, I love face to face readings, after all 70% of communication is body language. In spite of me studying the tarot for years, I still get stage fright before going on the lines (this is getting a bit better) may I add. I work for someone so I get the workers wage not the lions share of the fee! I find it is like fast food compared to sitting down to a nice meal in a restaurant. Most questions are relationship issues about 80% and 20% career. Many rush you as they are paying dollars by the minute, and end up with just that a rushed reading. I feel to do this you do realy need to be highly experienced and gosh you realy need to know the tarot backwards as lots of callers are also experienced at ringing these lines and can tell if your attempting to wing it. Another issue is that these lines are incredibly expensive to advertise so the providers of these services can pressure you to stay on line (I had a very negative experience with this though short it will stay with me for a while). I now work with someone who has the correct ethical approach so please BE WARNED OF THIS. When I said "safe" I meant my own physical safety in the location I read, I am afraid to see people in my home for that reason. I am sure South Australians love tarot too. As far as contacting phone clients this is absolutely a definite NO part of the main rules are on the phone lines NO exchange of personal info on either side allowed and there are fines. The idea of it that attracts people is its anonimity. Hope that helps, love all Mid.
