I'd like to buy a wooden tarot box but can't seem to find anyone who sells them. I know they're out there but my searches have come up empty. Can someone please recommend a seller or sellers to me?
Thanks from a Tarot initiate who's just taken the first step on his journey of a thousand miles.

I know azuregreen has some. I'm sure a local new age store would probably have some, and that way you wouldn't have to pay shipping and handling. but heres the link. I am getting ready to order a hindu goddess incense burner from there.

There's a store in Denver Called Isis Books that sells Tarot boxes. The address is:
www.isisbooks.com
They also ship. Go to the Tarot page, and scroll down the right column to the Tarot accessories. Hope this helps.

You can also go to any large craft store such as a Michael's or A.C. Moore and find unfinished wooden boxes to finish in whatever styles you please. Don't forget to also try dollar stores and places like Christmas Tree Shops that have large crafts sections.

MM ~ You mean I'm too late? I was going to recommend http://worldofboxes.com/tarot/tarot.htm I don't have their Tarot boxes, but I have several of their other boxes - one I use for runestones, one for a large crystal ball, and one I just keep jewelry in. BB, Stella

Stella, those are the coolest boxes that I've seen--they are fantastic!!! I actually prefer their other boxes over the Tarot-specific ones. They have quite a few to choose from! Thank you for the link!

Ah, I never thought about Michael's. Good suggestion.

Strange, these didn't come up when I googled. Guess I don't have the touch. :)

MM ~ Art Glass! Soapstone! All of those are wonderful. Now look at these spell boxes: http://ravensloft.easystorecreator.com/Browse_dept_items.asp The Seal of Dreaming box would be great for a deck...BB, Stella PS The link doesn't take you directly to the boxes - click on "search" then search on "spell box".

Hi
I do hand painted tarot boxes. In which you can pick a specific card or artwork on them. If you would like to see samples I have a couple pages of them at http://www.dolphin-daze.com/ or feel free to pm me with an email address and I can send you some scans of some of the latest ones I have done for custom orders.
Boxes are painted with a mix of colors and iridescent paints that makes each painting shimmer and come alive. The boxes are 7.75 inches long, by 5.75 inches wide, by 3.25 inches tall. This is a great size that will hold two decks next to each other, or four decks total if you stack them 2 deep.

I bought a beautiful carved wooden box from an indonesian import store. For anyone in Toronto, it was on Bloor street, pretty much directly across from Eternal Moment in the Annex. They are sold as jewelry boxes, but surprisingly fit my Universal Waite as if made for it. I have seen these boxes at Frida as well, and assume they would be in any similar store.
I also bought a Leather covered box, very handsome, with a snap closing for $10 at Winners - this is the sort of box that is often sold with notes and envelopes in it. This fits my over size Hallowquest, and keeps a spot of honour on the bureau.

There is a deck somewhere that came in it's own 'tarot tin.'

MM ~ And there is a Minchiate Tarot that comes in a wooden box! Unfortunately, I've only seen it advertised online, haven't actually touched one. Could be any kind of wood - if it was a nice hardwood they would be shouting it from the rooftops, so it's probably pine, at best. The thing is pretty pricey - I hope it's at least a decent box and not flimsy...or balsa! BB, Stella

I really like the recipe box style of The Housewives Tarot.
& Tarotbear is correct about boxes from Michael's & from The Dollar Tree.
I found some in unfinished wood at The Dollar Tree that can hold 1-2 small decks.
