HI all Hope you don't mind, but I just had to post this........... I had a wonderful surprise this morning. A package arrived, unexpectedly. I had no idea what it was, all I know is that a lady I had chatted to on here a few times had asked for my address.................. We had talked a few times about tarot bags, decks etc, and we talked about the Gaian tarot, I said how much I loved the deck and hoped one day to own it. Well, you have probably guessed..........that was what was inside the package !! This amazing lady, who I have never met, sent me my very own copy of the Gaian Tarot, how about that for kindness ! I was so moved I cried, no one has ever been so kind or so selfless toward me before. She truly is a Fairy Godmother (as it said on her enclosed postcard) . I have been so down lately, this lifted my spirits and restored my faith in the world. There are some truly amazing and loving people out there and I am lucky enough to have encountered one. This very special lady and my personal Fairy Godmother, is a member of this forum. I will not name her, out of respect, as she may not wish her name to be known. I just wanted you all to know how grateful I am to her and how wonderful she is. This wonderful deck will always have a very special place in my heart. Not only is the deck itself breath-taking, but it now means so much more to me, for the wonderful way it came into my life. Thank you for making this so special for me. You are a true Star. Thank you so very much my Fairy Godmother, you know who you are ;o) Much love Galadriel xxx

That's a lovely story, Galadriel. And yes, your friend is a kind selfless person! Over the years, since I first logged onto the inernet, I have been the happy recipient of quite a few kindnesses from strangers. I'm always so moved. I try and do what I can to keep the river flow, though it was a bit complicated when I was working in the field.

That is a great story! Thanks for sharing. :) It really is wonderful that we are all part of a community whose members really do care about each other, and are moved to do wonderful and selfless things for one another. So sweet!

What a nice story. Earlier today I was thinking about sending a similar package to someone (non-tarot though, lol), but had talked myself out of it (what if they think I'm some kind of weirdo, lol). But seeing your post has inspired me to go ahead and do it! :) And if they think I'm a weirdo, I'm gonna tell em it's all your fault lol jk :) Thanks for sharing that story :)

It is wonderful to receive unexpected gifts, isn't it ? A generous AT member gifted me Samantha's tarot because she saw it on my wish list ! I wanted it badly but I could not afford it, it was such a great gift to receive. So I know how you are feeling :)

Great story, great read, and a great fairy Godmother. You know its a funny thing about generorsity- the giver gets I think much more pleasure than the receiver I think, well If I give thats what appears to happen, I don't feel selfless at all, more like selfish in getting all the good feelings. I, too, have had a fairygodmother gift me with two beautiful decks -- one that came in a lovely chest and was a special edition. It is incredibly touching and fills me with hope. Thank you for your story.

See how many people your Fairy Godmother's gift has touched by you telling the story. I think this is wonderful. Spread goodness. We are always very quick to tell how we have been wronged. It is lovely to see people telling how good things have happened to them.

Yes, I also have received gifts, especially through this great site. Its the people, our common interests, our shared stories, the time we put into writing and reading posts and making an effort to reach out. We have a very real community here. While we can't see many of the faces we can see all of the hearts. Isn't it great. Dave

Wow, I'd never had imagined things like this could happen over the internet... This is the first time I've heard of people being so considerate I wish I had people like that in my life... ah well, enjoy galadriel, thx for the inspiring story

In addition to my former post in this thread... I promised the kind giver of Samantha's Tarot to me, that if I would ever get tired of the deck, I would pass it on in the same way she gave it to me. So the tradition of gift giving is maintained :) However, there is little chance of me getting tired of the deck...

oh galadriel, how wonderful for you! i haven't had anything quite so special happen since i began my tarot journey but i do feel it opens you up to a wonderful community of sweet, like minded tarot enthusiasts!! to hear a story like this fills my heart with hope and joy! especially when so many people see tarot as a waste of time, or worse as something evil and not to be dabbled in! by the way- you mentioned tarot bags in your post- please excuse me for being so bold but i'm really missing yours!!!!! i keep checking your site but no new ones!! don't worry galadriel, i know how busy you are with TABI, ( i am currently on the beginners course so you can blame me LOL!!!!!) but seriously, i LOVE your tarot bags and with several new aquisitions since christmas, perhaps you take on a trainee to keep the bags a coming!! It has been great to read through this thread and to see that this is something you have all enjoyed hearing about. It seems the Fairy Godmother has spread far more joy than even she realised or hoped for ;o) I'm so pleased to have shared this with you all.
