Yesterday I posted this question http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=38926 , read the answers and found that all of them correct, that many cards can be a Mother: Fool_ish mother, Virgin Mother, Earth Mother, Amazon mother, PhD mother (Hierophant), loving mother (lovers), driving mom (chariot), lawyer mom (justice), single mom (hermit) and so on....
same with other cards - they overlap, intersect, change their meanings from different angles
trying to understand this merging of the archetypes, I remembered the concept of Holographic Universe < http://twm.co.nz/hologram.html >
"If a hologram of a rose is cut in half and then illuminated by a laser, each half will still be found to contain the entire image of the rose. Indeed, even if the halves are divided again, each snippet of film will always be found to contain a smaller but intact version of the original image. Unlike normal photographs, every part of a hologram contains all the information possessed by the whole."
this could explain why, while a tarot deck is a whole, every card still contains the whole and all other cards in itself
" Imagine an aquarium containing a fish. Imagine also that you are unable to see the aquarium directly and your knowledge about it and what it contains comes from two television cameras, one directed at the aquarium's front and the other directed at its side. As you stare at the two television monitors, you might assume that the fish on each of the screens are separate entities. After all, because the cameras are set at different angles, each of the images will be slightly different. But as you continue to watch the two fish, you will eventually become aware that there is a certain relationship between them."
if we substitute 2 fishes with our many mothers reflections, we could suggest that they are just different projections of one Mother???
What do you think?

I think I need to go to bed after reading that!
Man, that is a mindblowing question. I'll have to think about this for a while...it's kind of like that game in which you read your fortune (from fortune cookie) then say the words "...in bed" and it always somehow fits in a very Mad Lib kind of way. (i.e. "Good fortune will come to you...in bed")

Or imagine a disco ball suspended in the center of a room. Don't set it in motion, yet. The disco ball's surface is made up of 78 pieces of mirror reflecting the room. Each piece reflects a particular view of the room - all pieces reflect a "true" view - but each piece does not reflect the exact same view as any other piece. In fact, pieces on the opposite sides of the disco ball reflect completely different views of the room, but again - each view is an honest interpretation of that particular angle of the room, and it's the SAME ROOM.
The room is life - the 78 pieces of mirror surfacing the disco ball are the Tarot cards. Now, set the whole thing in motion. The room and the mirror. Life moves, the Tarot moves and reflects it back from varying angles at any given point in time. Which explains why each and every card is the answer to your question - you simply may not "see" it, since you may not be standing on that side of the room.
Intuition is the ability to understand and interpret what might be happening on the other side of the room, even though your eyes are not directly upon it.
Okay - I'm gonna go play some old BeeGees music now. Ah ah ah ah Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive ...

The 22 Major Arcana could be compared to a natural crystal.
Sacred geometry isn't about the pure science of mathematics,
but vital energies that function according to organic principles
by which "self" is created from the self in the image of the self.
Slicing holograms is not nearly so interesting as tasting sea salt,
knowing that it formed in soils, defied evaporation, and is tart.
When you pick up a deck of Tarot cards, you are transforming
yourself into your self using an organic tool that is kinda sweet.

wow, I was too absorbed in that theory about the universe as a hologram at first, its really fascinating stuff.
Drawing a parallel to Tarot however, thats a very interesting concept. It certainly makes the entire methodology of tarot less mysterious.

Just keep in mind that this is not the answer,
or even the question, just a really cool poster!

Jaysus Fulgour – can I take this, Paraphrase it and Plagiarize it? What a brilliant statement…

I know you're right about slicing the rose (or anything else), but all I care about the cards is that when I have a problem, they have some useful insights. Or at least that's all I cared about after I got a sense of the structure of the quantum fields and how the workings of the Tarot fitted into it.
Right now I need to go fix my lunch.

Well, sure, that's why if you truly get to the heart of any one thing, you get to the heart of everything -- that's enlightenment.
Meanwhile, the world of differences that we see in all the facets is what we have to deal with, no?

mnemosyne7 and Fulgor - your posts are absolutely beautiful creations, the concept of holographic universe is still a dry scientific hypothesis

Thanks for this thread!
It is amazing how people post their words so the rest of us can
understand and learn.
Takes the study out of our learning and makes knowledge fun.
I'll be thinking of these projections for days.

Intuition is the ability to understand and interpret what might be happening on the other side of the room, even though your eyes are not directly upon it. In the back of your mind there is always a mark
there’s a wandering solo alone in the dark
You can keep it forever or tear it apart
We are children of the world
watching every day go by
Changing my life
changing your life
keeps us all anticipating

Wow, thanks guys/gals, everyone. It's thread like these that really helps defines some of the mysteries for those of us that feel like it's all rocket science at times :)
You've put thing in a beautiful, poetic, yet easy to relate too (long live disco!! ) fashion, for me at least.
Though I must admit that the Enneagram View poster was over the top for me, sorry Fulgour :( However, my I've printed it off for hubby to explain to me when he gets home from work.
Blessings,
Donna

Though I must admit that the Enneagram View poster was over the top for me, sorry Fulgour... The Meru Foundation and Stan Tenen are hostile to Tarot.
Though some of their graphics are very ;) cool it still
needs to be emphasized that their work is all about them.

Have you read the holographic universe? I havent got the name of the author here with me at work but it is a brilliant book which goes down these lines exactly and explains the entire world via quantum theory and holograms

What a fantastic thread! tarot cards as holographic projections, each containing the whole image, each a microcosm. Wow, these is delightful. It would explain why there is no such thing as "the wrong cards". It's like how any cell in the body contains the DNA information for the whole creature. (did I get that right?).
We used to have this saying in French grad school, that anywhere you stick the knife in the pig, it still comes out pig, meaning - you could open the novel you were studying to any paragraph, look at it in depth, and find something importantly representative of the author and the work as a whole.
