Recently I visited a Christian bookstore for the 1st time ever, I went with a friend, I was roaming inside the bookstore while my firiend was looking for some books, I found a section full of soft cases for Bibles, those cases are meant to be used as protection and carrying case for a Bible, there were different sizes and colours, I thought one of those bags would be perfect for a Tarot deck and reading cloth... I was so pleased to see it was right! you can see some pictures here
Please understand I didn't mean to offend Christian and/or Catholic people doing this, I think the bag serves the purpose very well.

It is size 5 but there is no way to know if that size system is the same everywhere.

I meant in inches LOL. Or centimeters, whatever is common to you. By the looks of the pic it looked about 3.5X5.5 inches.

For some people, the tarot is their bible.

For some people, the tarot is their bible.
And likewise, for others, the Bible is their tarot (if I have understood Bibiomancy correctly - I saw it done by some protestant Evangelists once)

I find this idea brilliant...
Just that I never have seen those soft cases here... People are not great bible carriers here :)
Any idea where I could find them?
Love

I see those cases every where here. They are nice but most of them I have seen have 'Holy Bible' written on them. My mom used to have one for her bible.
I was actually have one that was made for carrying needlework. Craft stores may be an option as they come in different sizes.

This looks just perfect for lugging a deck around without having to worry about padding and such.
I will definately be on the lookout for this, though not having seen any yet, I doubt I'd be able to find one any time soon.
Thankyou for sharing your find Flavio. :)

I never saw a Bible that small, but they do print it in paperback, I suppose.
My first impression upon seeing the picture is that the zipper-sided case reminds me of those leather or vinyl calendar carry-all thingies they sell for 'dayrunner' calendars.
My hint to anyone considering making one (I was a costume designer, remember) is that the zipper gets sewn in BEFORE you sew the rest of the case together.
I have made dozens of bags with flat bottoms with corners that are great for carrying decks ( it's the same patter I used to make reticules for all the period costumes I sewed over the years), but to tell the truth, to try to explain it in words would take so long that no one would try it! Any time I have tried to scan and post something here on Aeclectic the screen says that the image is too big! Gets silly after a while!

Aw, tarotbear, I would love to see an example of your bags. I recently purchased some very simple but gorgeous small fabric gift bags that are perfect for tarot decks. They are made of cheap crushed velvet and are drawstring, but what was so gorgeous was the simple but enchanting beaded embroidery on the fronts as well as dangly beaded trim tucked in the bottom seam. Ever since I bought these (on clearance! 50% off!) I've been eager to make my own. But a flat bottomed fabric bag? I've seen the lunch bag patterns, but somehow I don't think that's what you're making.
