Hi All
Doesn't the world love conspiracies? Yes! So on that note I want to do some readings on conspiracy theories. Anyone interested?
Has this ever been done before??
I will let someone in the UK take Diana as I would feel awful depriving them of this
Likewise someone in US could do Marilyn's and JFK's deaths.
I would like to do Kurt Cobain and whether he was murdered unless there is a massive Nirvana fan out there who would love to do this. In which case I will go with the question "is there a group that rules the world ie the Bilderberg Group (dont know how to even spell it), the Masons, the trilateral thingyamajig.
Other theories I can think of
Was the Boxing day tsunami caused by a nuclear test?
Then the whole alien theories.
There are so many! Anyone in? Any suggestions for spreads. I guess they need to be tailormade for each question but I would envisage every helping on the interpretations.
Anyone?

As this thread is not about an actual reading but the discussion of a specific type of reading, it is being moved to Talking Tarot for the time being. This will facilitate further discussion & plans for any interested in the idea of such readings.
As actual readings occur, they can be posted in Your Readings.

I am very intrigued by this idea!
I am not sure I have the means to address it at the moment; however, shall still think about a spread.
My subject would be the late Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania of Georgia, a former Soviet Union republic. He was found dead along with a politician friend in early February. I prefer to not say more & to leave it hopefully to an opportunity for the cards to speak instead.

Perhaps develop a spread, even a generalized one that can be adjusted to address the particular query?
Currently working on designing a spread & thus far:
1. What is known
2. What is not known
3. What is true
4. What is not true
5. Additional insight(s)
6. Conclusion
I am considering one card for each position to keep things simple & for clarity with the possible exception of positions 5 & 6 to receive up to 2 cards each.
Suggestions welcomed!

Ok cool, looks good to me Meewah..atleast with the cards speaking, we can't go off on a tangent and put in our own personal views...well try not too!

Ooo, this sounds like it would be fun. I'm fairly new to reading tarot, but it would be a fun practice for me if no one would mine terribly? And what might be kind of cool is the fact that I was born on the same day that JFK was shot, 11/22/63 :) So, even though I'm a newbie, I would be willing to try that one. Let me know if it's ok, and when your ready to start.
Blessings,
Donna

Silverkitten: After determining the subject, formulate the question with the subject as the theme.
Best to avoid the Yes/No variety of query--such as: "Was there a conspiracy in such-&-such?"--which tends to result in the ambiguous.
Then focus on the question & throw the cards.
Write the interpretation & post it in Your Readings.
In order to distinguish these readings from the others there, we could include in the thread title a prefacing phrase such as "Conspiracy theory: JFK assassination" or similar.
I would like to see what Free Flight, Phoenix Rising & others think of the approach, too.
Edited to add: Free Flight's name just above with apologies to Free Flight--this is her idea :)

Hi All
:) I am very excited now. Glad some people are keen.
I am more than happy with Meewah's spread and as specified and we can post in the Your Readings section as suggested.
So Silverkitten will take JFK
Phoenix Rising will do Diana
I will start on Kurt and perhaps move to the Bilderburg question.
Anyone else. there are a lot more conspiracies out there

a tarot card that easily symbolizes a conspiracy is afoot is the 3 of swords.

Cool Ahria - marilyn is all yours.
April - looking forward the moon landings spread.
Welcome aboard the conspiracy train :)
Paradox - thanks for this if the 3 Swords indicates this what about reversed would this indicate no conspiracies involved?

I can see where 3-Swords could represent a conspiracy. Also 3-Pentacles as like 3-Swords, could represent a group of people with similar interests.
Cards such as 7-Swords &/or The Moon could also; however, depending on the context of a query, there could be other cards or combinations of cards to indicate the dubious or questionable.
Therefore, it would be limiting to look for the appearance of specific cards to denote "conspiracy". Ultimately, it may be how the resulting cards strike the reader; a gut reaction that tells a story.

I'd like to do one.
On the 6th April 1994, the plane carrying the Hutu President Habyarimana of Rwanda was shot down by a missile. This act set off the Rwandan genocide that killed in three months 1 million mainly Tutsi Rwandans, and a number of moderate Hutus.
The likeliest and best documented explanation is that it was shot down by Hutu extremists from Habyarymana's own regime, using technology the French had taught them to use, because these extremists thought he had betrayed them by signing peace with the Tutsi rebels. The shot down plane was the signal for the start of the genocide.
The other explanation is an even greater consipracy theory: some say that Paul Kagame, the actual president of Rwanda and the then Tutsi leader of the rebel army, gave the order to shoot down the plane, using technology the Americans had taught his troops to use. Knowing that the genocide was a likely result of the killing of the Hutu President at such a delicate moment, and wanting to provoke it for his own reasons (Government army too busy killing civilians to make war, giving him the chance to fight through and win; world sympathy for the Tutsis to give him leverage), he cynically had the plane shot down and let the genocide against his fellow Tutsis and moderate Hutus happen.
For those who have forgotten history, Kagame and his rebels won through and the Hutu leadership, the killing militia and army, and 2 million hutu citizens were routed and fled into Congo and Tanzania (except some of the leadership that managed to get further afield, including Europe, from which they are slowly being extradited to face trial for genocide).
Believe it or not, the second explanation has many believers in Africa and in France.
I shall use MeeWah's spread.
