If you could pick three.....

For those of you that use gems/stones with your tarot readings. If you had a strict budget and could only choose three. Which three would you choose?
Which ones would you consider to be of the most value to your readings?

Thanks,
Donna

I would say clear quartz and moonstone , with hematite in case of dizziness.

Silverkitten  17 Mar 2005
Thank you Dark Inquisitor. I do have the clear quartz, but not the other two. Did a search for the moonstone. Will have to go on a hunt to find it. I do have about a 1 mm round hematite that was paired with a pearl in a ring, but the pearl shattered. I wondered if I could remove it from the setting and use it?
I'm surprised that more have not responded to this question, as I thought that more used stones with their tarot readings.
If I may ask, what other stones do you use for your readings, and for what qualities?
I'd really like to incorporate them into tarot. I just feel like it would be an asset.
I hope this is the right place for this thread. It is talking about tarot.

Blessings,
Donna

Amethyst is another one I like. A piece of obsidian in a bowl of salt is good to have on the reading table if you read for others and want to absorb their negativity .

Perhaps you could find a replacement hematite round substitute for the pearl part of the ring the ring and get it fixed to wear. Hematite is one of the most inexpensive stones, and you should be able to find some large specimens for not a lot of money.

I would also choose Amethyst and Quartz as two of the stones to keep with my cards. Quartz tends to amplify the powers of other stones, and I personally find Amethyst to be a powerful stone. Not sure of what stone I would pick for my third. I'll have to think about that.
Just a suggestion, you might get more replies to your question if you post it in the Crystals & Herbs Forum. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dark and Blue :)
I do have several nice pieces of amethyst, and a nice clear quartz crystal. Those are the two that I keep with my cards at all times. I have lots of other polished stones that I got years ago from a rock shop. I can identify a few of them, but need to get a book to figure out what the rest of them are. Have a few good pieces of moss agate too but not sure what their properties are.
Blue, maybe I should see if the moderator can move this thread I guess. It might do better in Crystals & Herbs like you said.

Thank you both for you replies. I appreciate your input.
Dark, you are right about the hematite being inexpensive. I had thought once about getting another to replace the pearl, just never got around to it. I had not ever thought about it's use for dizziness.

Blessings,

Hmm- DarkBlue- a good screen name ... there are plenty of websites you could go to that have good stone pix (stoneporn) and the properties thereof.

Silverkitten  18 Mar 2005
That is exactly what I am doing right now. Surfing for stone porn :) Have any of your favorites to suggest?

I hope you didn't mind me using the shortened version of your screen name. My spelling is bad enough because of some meds that I'm on, I didn't want to butcher your name to badly, lol. And Dark Blue does have a nice ring to it ;)

The stones I keep with my tarot decks are:
Amethyst,
Clear quartz
Rainbow obsidian

I would have to say absolutley my Amethyst point and sodalite, for my crown and brow chakras and my onyx because that is my personal stone.

I like amethyst for connection to spirit and third eye, rose quartz for love and healing (but esp. love!) and labradorite to protect my own aura/energy from sopping up others' stuff...it sort of keeps your aura strong.

Silverkitten  18 Mar 2005
Hi Solty Dog-
I was think 3 because I thought that would be a good number to start out with. You know, maybe buy a few per paycheck. Amethyst seems to be at the top of the list for eveyone. Humm? Sodalite that's anice one too. I'll add it to my list. I just checked out a book from the library on Chakra's. Looks good so far.

Sulis-
I've never heard of the Rainbow obsidian. Why do you like that particular stone?

SongDeva-
I went shopping for Rose Quartz yesterday at the little bead store here and they didn't have any. That is one that I do really want to add very soon. Labradorite, had not thought of that one. And I do know that with my health being what it is at the moment, my aura does need help. Good idea.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I appreciate it :)

Blessings,
Donna
