Hi
Just a quick posting to ask if anyone else had problems with Amazon (uk) delivery. Waiting for Druidcraft Tarot, so so patiently!, and got the despatch email last Friday, about two weeks after placing order. Wouldn't be worrying except that without fail every single order I've placed with Amazon over last few years has arrived within 2 days of despatch email, so now am really worried it's got lost or delivered elsewhere. Contacting Amazon and local sorting office tomorrow, but just thought would ask if anyone else had the same experience.
Suppose am trying to work out why the deck wouldn't turn up, as is first time have returned to tarot after a few years away, and was a really really big step to order the deck and be prepared to open up and work with it. Shaking the foundations a bit, bit of doubt ..... but did draw Hagalaz ('Tower') this week!

I find Amazon.co.uk far slower than they used to be.
Their delivery was excellent one time, now is takes a while for sent confirmation, then it seems things are posted 2nd class.

Hi there wellspring,
Just thought this might help
I ordered my Druidcraft from Amazon on the 3rd April
Received notification of its posting on 13th April
Received deck 16th April
Our post is so lousy now though! I would give it another couple of days. I reckon it'll arrive tomorrow :)

Thanks Dylan and Jewel-ry
Amazon definitely seems to be getting slower! Just got confirmation about another item (ebay) that was posted on Friday also, and hasn't arrived, plus other things missing, so am thinking the local sorting office is getting a visit tomorrow! So yes, should have them in my mits tomorrow! Glad yours arrived safely, Jewel-ry. That's great. They're such a beautiful deck from what I've seen online and all the great reviews. The pouch is sewn, the journal file is ready ... just the pack left to arrive!

I usually find its not Amazon but the postal service - The last deck I ordered from Amazon was very nearly took back to the sorting office when the delivery man didn't knock on my door - he saw a neighbour in her porch and asked if she would have my parcel. I saw the van just as he was about to drive off, he didn't even seem surprised that I was in. If my neighbour hadn't have took the parcel then it would have gone back.
Also I've phoned up to get parcels delivered a second time and they have spent longer at the sorting office than in the post.
I'm not very impressed with our postal service at the moment. I try to be in when I get the Amazon email to say the parcel has been dispatched then you get let down by the Royal Mail.

Hi Emily
Totally agree, and my experience has been the same. Last week an expected parcel was left with a neighbour, when I was in, and no card left. First I knew was when the neighbour knocked on door! Usual postie guy's really good, but the neighbour said something about 'she left it, couldn't deliver it'. Made no sense at all, as I was in; I make sure I'm in when know orders due too. When I phoned Royal Mail after being unable to get through to the local office, to ask for the 2nd phone number for the local office, which I'd had but lost!, they were shocked when I said the postie had given mail to a neighbour, and said I should have reported it the same day. Went ahead with reporting it, plus am hoping reporting it stops it happening again. If it happens to you again, might be worth reporting it.
Hope your postie service cleans their act up too!

Don't even ask....
It took them 6 weeks to deliver something that was apparently dispatched within 48hrs!!!
HA... NOT!!!

I live in Switzerland and order a lot from Amazon UK - never have any problems at all! All my last parcels came in under 4 days from order. Must be the Royal Mail buggering up.

Foxyangel, that's dreadful! Got to be some kind of record. Glad you got it in the end, but gawd that was just TOO long!
Helvetica, 4 days from UK to Switzerland is great. Definitely the Royal Mail making a total bugger up of things. Now there's a surprise!

I posted a parcel to UK at the end of March and it still hasnt arrived, I have been told by the South African postal service that they are having huge problems with mail going to the UK.
I feel a bit better now as I was very worried it was lost or stolen, but I think now its a general problem.

Not trying to worry you but I did a trade with someone in Africa last November and never received the parcel :(

Hi Ahria and Jewel-ry
Sorry to hear about problems with parcels. I'd definitely contact the Royal Mail via their main site, as when I contacted them the other day they were shocked at what I was saying and instantly said to report this, and did this/gave me a report number. I've just phoned the local office too, and will contact the main Royal Mail again if no joy via local office! Seems either posties are really great or just terrible/leave stuff dumped at the sorting offices. Hope both parcels get found and safely delivered.

I too have noticed it getting slower. I got a dispatch note for the Housewives Tarot :) yesterday, so I will see if it is there tonight.
I have found that if things are too big to get though my letter box (especially things from Amazon) they just leave 'em by the front door. Other things they take back to the sorting office for collection (luckily only about 5 minutes walk away)
I had hoped I would get my cards today, but I now have a feeling I will be disappointed :( !!

Hi KatRabbit
Maybe best expect it to be 2 or 3 days at least. When I phoned sorting office this morning they said it's absolutely wrong for a postie to leave stuff anywhere else, and are going to have a strong word with the postie in question tomorrow, to tell them, believe it or not, to bother to ring the bell, to leave a card if necessary, and to not leave stuff elsewhere, all of which this idle so-and-so's been doing. So another day waiting, plus another parcel posted the same day still not arrived too. Really hoping for good news tomorrow! Hope you get good news too.

PS Just phoned Amazon for a tracking number (item shows up as being delivered .... yeah right!), and they were really good ..... if the item doesn't arrive, they'll send a replacement out, so at least that's good news for anyone who's deck hasn't arrived, trusting that royal mail don't cock it up again of course!

I get most of my stuff from Amazon within 3 days of posting, but Royal Mail are rubbish sometimes.
Amazon are so good though, on the rare occasion when things have gone missing, they ALWAYS refund or replace immediatley. Amazon are fab for that, ace company, I never order anywhere else if I can get it there.
Can be slow getting decks in from the US but its worth the wait knowing they have such good customer care.

Hi Tarot Galadriel
I totally agree, and always my first choice too. Glad you have good experience with them too. Every other order's come within 3 days too, so I smelt a royal mail rat this time! I hadn't had reason to phone Amazon before this happening, and am so impressed. Really helpful, and to refund/replace straightaway is excellent. Great, as know will still end up with what you've ordered, despite royal mail's best efforts!

I ordered the druidcraft from Amazon and hat to wait ages too, but got the housewives next day - still order lots of acedemic books and get those speedily. I think it has to do with Amazon's supplier regarding esoteric stuff - there are much more personal and friendlier tarot shops out on the web.

Hi Metaclematis
Yes, don't know whether when the Amazon guy this morning said there were Druidcraft Tarot's in stock he meant they were able to send out a replacement straight away, or in stock at the suppliers ..... hoping it's not the latter/another 2 weeks!
Are you allowed to list the other UK tarot shops on the forum? Couldn't find any other UK places that were selling the Druidcraft any cheaper than Amazon; as you say, Amazon are great for quickly delivering everything else. Mind, it's hard to know, as the Druidcraft takes a long time to arrive, but your Housewives Tarot came really quickly, as did a mini pagan tarot I ordered, but disliked and sold (before I found this site)!
Cheers, Cat

I have found Amazon to be slow sometimes too, I agree with Tarot Galadriel too Amazon are really good twice parcels have gone missing and they have replaced straight away, my postie is atrocious he takes parcels to the post office then never leaves me a calling card so half the time if I know a package has been despatched I have to ring them, once I had a recorded delivery and the postie took the label off and put it through the letterbox! :O

Hi Cerridwen
Yes, used to get the despatch email then the order delivered the next day. Was so relieved to hear they'd replace the order! Same problem with this one postie, no bell rung or cards left, have to phone up. Can understand it'd be worrying about recorded delivery signed. I don't mind if the good postie does that, as saves me the hassle of having to hunt down the package or wait longer or it sat in the sorting office forever! That's just me though. Get sick of hassles with other deliveries as well as post - good incentive to save some money and/or do things the old-fashioned way!

Well, the housewives arrived yesterday, left outside as usual!!! Good job it didn't rain yesterday. I'm very pleased with them :) - nearly made up for my car playing up, but not quite!!!!
Cerridwen - I've had that happen before with recorded delivery. I got home from work to find the parcel (some jewellery) hanging out of the letterbox.
I didn't know there was a number to complain to, I'll have to look that up

Hi KatRabbit
Glad the Housewives is good. Yes, just go to the main Royal Mail site and the number's on there. They're not supposed to leave parcels anywhere but with yourself directly. With local office, I've had to really really keep at them this morning until suddenly they straight away found the two packages and have put them on the van (still waiting! Druidcraft's nearly in mits!). After the hassle there's been with this, I'd go straight to the main Royal Mail with a proper complaint next time.

As soon as laid out first Reading, it felt really calm and magical, plus had a nap (getting old at 39!) with cards under pillow and had some really relevant dreams that linked in with starting to work with the pack! This is going to be a really good journey.
