At the risk of sounding too obsessed with energy, I would like to ask if there is such a thing as vibration of individual Tarot cards or as a deck. Do they vibrate differently from card to card and deck to deck, if the do? Have anyone heard about this or noticed? Thanks.

Yeah, I feel it - But only when Im heavily in tune or on a roll - Dunno if it's just an aussie term, but when Im "on fire" cards certainly vibrate...
Of course, this doesn't mean I physically see them "shake" but - They have an energy in them I can feel. Individual cards, pairs of cards - Usually important cards, or key cards...
There ya go.

Yes, there is an energy. You can tune into it. That's how I choose cards for readings, when the cards "call" me to stop.
Each deck has a different energy and each card within a deck is distinguishable from the next, especially if you take the time to meditate on them.
The trick is to "tune out" when selecting cards for others.
Cheers,
Webwitch :)

I agree mostly with what has been said by Rogan and Webwitch.
When I shuffle my cards, I can most certainly feel an energy. And I think that one can tune into that energy when reading for oneself and for others in order to enhance the reading. I will even go a step further to say that I have 'seen' energy around my cards. I can remember performing a reading and there was a just-visible white aura around the cards.

Whether or not I feel "energy" from my tarot cards varies depending on my state of mind at the time. If I have taken the time to meditate first, and if I've really "set the mood" for tarot reading, then I definitely feel a distinct energy in my cards as I shuffle the deck. Other times, I feel nothing at all.
But I think it has more to do with me than with the cards themselves . . .

I agree with that. I also feel that it has to do with the energies present in any given situation at any given time. It is those energies I feel surround the cards.

When you use the word 'vibrate' I think of my mobile phone which goes crazy when it calls. ;( So, vibrates... Nah, not really. I can feel the energy in them, like I can with most objects, but I wouldn't describe them as vibrations.

Everything has a natural vibration - check out a bit of quantum theory. By picking up the cards or holding them you should be able to feel a psychic imprint or vibration on them. This is also how psychometry works (something like). You tune into the vibrations from an object once belonging to someone and that allows them to come close.
This is why some people have issues about others handling thier cards.
Colours play a big part in this, ever notice how different colours make you feel or look?

Sounds like something I had happen recently. Last weekend I was lying down meditating for a while (not on a Tarot card, just meditating...), My Faeries' Oracle was lying to my side and I lay my hand on it and I could feel movement. My hand was not moving, but the deck was slightly from left to right. I could feel it vibrate too.
But then that is my favourite and most special deck, it does seem to react to me and for me more than my others, although of course they all work. :-)
Actually that is how I pick the cards for a reading. Separate into 3 piles and put my hand over each to see which has the strongest vibration. Then pull the cards from that pile. I have to say that that method has always worked well for me.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I know in my pendies, each stone has a different feel/vibration to it.
And I only read for myself, but I am one of those. LOL I would be quite upset if someone touched my cards.

I guess I'm not in tune with energies... I don't get vibrations from things. If I did, I'd probably just think it was too much coffee consumption. I know I vibrate. I get vibes from people and their energy affects me, but I really haven't felt that from the cards.
I think it's me and won't say that it isn't in the cards... I'm sort of dense and unaware by chance or choice I'm not sure. I've known people who can hear trees... ok, I do too, but not in a communicating way. Wind in the branches and squeaky, creaky... natural phenomenon explainable stuff.
Personally I'm glad my cards don't do anything out of the ordinary and are nice, behave themselves and just give me good readings when my head is in the right space.

I have noticed this with some of my decks. In fact I can feel a difference from deck to deck. Earlier this evening I did a reading for my husband and I used the New Palladini, which I have not used in a while. I immediately felt the difference from the Gilded and Robin Wood, which I use more frequently. There is an indescribable energy that I get from the cards, at times. I am not sure vibrate is a word I would use. It is more like a magnetic pull or feeling of weight and heaviness. I have had cards "jump" out at me before, and that is usually significant in some way.
Also there are times when certain decks seem to "call" me to read with them.

My response would be much like that of Wales Woman, though she expressed it better than I could.
I feel silly because I don't feel anything but cards when I handle my cards. They never seem warm or vibrate, though I fully agree that many here are sensitive enough to feel that. I also agree with WW that to me nature is alive, almost anthromorphized and I get many messages that way. but the cards, I just read them visually and by what is in or comes into my head. I can't feel anything when I touch them though.
I did study Physics a million years ago in university and I know that everything vibrates, everything is just made that way.

Physics, physics, rah, rah, rah!
(Sorry for getting carried away there, the subject just fascinates me, especially the Quantum branch :P )
Anyhow, as far as feeling vbes from my cards, I must agree with the other good folks who said that it all depends on their feelings at the time. When my personal energy level is very high, and I shuffle my cards, they actually feel as if they're buzzing sometimes when I've finished. Clients have remarked on this too. One lady nearly dropped the deck. When I'm vibing at a more subdued frequency, the cards reflect that too. I still have good results from the reading, but they just don't carry that noticeable buzz. I tend to agree with what Daveyboy said about inadvertant energy signatures being left on objects. As far as my understanding goes, it is indeed the way psychometry works.

The other day my 6 yr old picked a card and it was a card he loved (Knight of swords- he loves swords). I asked him how he knew which one to pick, and he said it felt warm to him, so he knew it was the right one.
I haven't tuned in to feeling the energy with my hands, but I'm going to start trying.
Blessings, Maria

Yes, it's very subtle, but you can tune into it. I've even noticed a different feel to the entire deck, depending on whether I've deliberately arranged the cards in a certain way.

I have found in my life that that is one of the prerequisites to seeing true mircales, and accessing the types of spiritual experiences that most people do not experience: you have to have enough faith to beleive they can happen and to accept it when it does to you.
This is what I have seen. If you have a true spiritual experience of that kind and rationalize it away, it may be a long time till the next one. It's like you told the universe I do not value this kind of thing. The universe, I think sends us these things when we are open to them to teach us things. If you do not learn from them, it sees this particular type of learning experience is not working on you and stops sending them. I think the universe sees you do not really want your cards to vibrate and are ready to explain it away if they did.
But if you accept it as a spiritual and miraculous thing, your life will send you more and more of them. And they will become stronger and the magic in them more undeniable, and they will teach you deeper and deeper messages.

This is probably very true, some things were beginning to happen a few months ago, nothing I could even describe but just THINGS that were pointing to that which defies rationalization explaination and that on top of some other emotional stuff... I was totally freaked out and afraid and not ready to handle it... to the point where I couldn't think about picking up my cards and just made myself read because I didn't want to let my weekly reading buddy down.
Those had to have been the worst readings in my entire life and one of the most confounding periods as well. I knew there was something I needed to know, but wasn't really sure if I wanted to know. As you pointed out... I'd prefer my cards not to vibrate or do anything but be my trusty advisors. I'm not quite ready to step beyond what I feel is comfortable and predicable and "normal," mainly because I am SO not, ... I tend to run from things that make me feel I am not in control, but in control of me. Doesn't matter if it could be benificial...but I'm getting over it a little bit at a time... I am reading again and enjoying it once more.
But even tho my cards aren't vibrating, the universe has it's ways of getting it's messages across, one way or another. It's quite amazing in the variety and directions it comes from.
It's cool that some are that sensitive or open to those frequencies and can feel those energies when they touch their cards. I don't know that the lack of this will make anyone less of a reader... for the others that don't experience this. It's still mostly a matter of perceptions and for me, stepping outside my box and stretching beyond the comfort zone.

Sometimes it's just better for me to spread out the cards in a single line and pick from them based upon their warmth.
I have had about three times when I went forward in time in dreams, but this is a very difficult way of being psychic, if that's what it is, cause first: In a dream? Who remembers?, second it is generally a precognition about 6 months in advance..... Thanks to the joking gods who gave me this gift!
I do have a facility for communicating with the cards. Total immersion is what I call it. Recently I did a deep meditation on the King/Sw and Kn/cups. When I went to bed and closed my eyes I saw the King/Sw sitting down on my bed, very much like a concerned father would if they were thinking about their child. He had his own look, nothing like an image on a card. I was so startled that I opened my eyes..... luckily he had gone..... so the white coats, ambulance, sirens approaching didn't come true..... It was very strange. He wasn't frightening; it was just the fact that he appeared that was startling.
Anyone had this kind of experience?

Only with one of my decks, There is something about it, it's the one I'm closest too. I won't get into the details too much, but I found out later a lot of others had had similar experiences with it. So that made me feel sane again. LOL

i had the some experience too. when i was a begginer i read that for having a better knowledgment of the cards you must meditate whith them, then put the card in low of your pillow and ask it, if it can disclose it meaning for you at your dreams. i had a lot of dreams whith the cards since than. the more starnge was the moon, i saw it full and over the sea, the sea were dangerous and the boats was drift. but all of this whith a lot of silence. then i see tarot cards, and runes and a litle afraid when i heard the voice of a wolf or a dog i dont know. it was a scarey sound then i wake up. whith the star i had felt a lot of energy and i dream whith flowers. the flowers were beatifull and i could fell the smell. whith the hight priestess i fell the presence like shandar describe at her post. of course that i had diferent fellings but i felt and see she sit at my bed looking at me. whith the minor arcana some didnt give me a clear dream but another ones give me so clear such the majors.
