I was reading in another thread about belief in Tarot because of its accuracy. As if you had journaled a reading and 3 months later re-read it and found, if you chose different meanings it was spot-on? The answer that came with hindsight? Maybe our readings are always right but we just read it wrong?
I believe in Inner Guidance. That which helps me to focus on the picture that gives the lesson. I draw a daily card until 'something' says there, there, that's the one, catches my eye. Like drawing a clarification card in a spread.
I'm the one who creates my day and included in it should be a self-improvement lesson. Tarot cards help me to focus on that opportunity when it arrives. Does that make my readings always accurate in some form? I don't know...sometimes I don't hear the knock.

I think it kinda varies and that's why it helps to have feedback....unless of course you're reading about the abdul/clark case and just paid the huge sum asked for....
For me...I don't believe the future is always set in stone unless you're Lewen and Huredriel and WhiteRaven and keep getting the Empress card on me...in this case...Guys...stay away from me and put the tarot cards down...I don't wanna know *curling in a ball and sobbing...oh wait..not a good position...aahhhhhhhhh.....lol*
Seriously though...I think the Tarot can be a great guide but we still have free will along with Fate...and there are things that are not set in stone and can be changed not only by our decisions but the decisions of others, hence the pool of water and pebbles poured in allegory...or was it dropped...hmm.. maybe I should stop pouring....
Since some things in future can changed...it's a matter of half and half...yes the Tarot can be dead on...but sometimes...it can just be a guide or pushed into a general direction...I think hence the warning too about doing readings about health or legal matters....some people may take it so seriously that they will end up becoming self-fufilling....

Sometimes you don't. At least not right away.
I once gave my mom a reading in which she'd asked a question about her marriage and all these cards came up that signified a big change (Wheel, Tower) and that she'd need Strength. Heck, their fight wasn't *that* bad!
It was mid-July 2000 and soon after that, she found out from my dad that my brother had a secret (he didn't want to ruin her summer so he was going to wait to tell her). He was not going back to college in the fall. He was getting married and joining the Marines!
Now, five years later, when he has two kids and has served two tours in Iraq, my mom and I can look back at that reading and see all kinds of things that it meant. At the time we just thought I wasn't a good reader yet and that it basically meant nothing. When you see cards like Wheel, Tower, Strength in a reading about a marriage, and you're not that experienced anyway, it's easy to think, "My goodness! A divorce!" I did not think, "He's keeping a big secret that will devastate her!" (My mom is a pacifist and has cried every single day for five years about my brother being a Marine.)
The cards were right. The whole reading couldn't have been more right. I was wrong. My interpretations had nothing to do with what the cards were saying. Sometimes we can't see what they're saying so we think they're wrong.

Hi Bladeraven...free will along with Fate. I like that. Is that what you mean about a matter of half and half? Fate means something pre-destined. Free will is how you achieve that destiny? And Tarot can show so many different ways to choose... Deana, That very reason is what I meant about hindsight! Also the reason why a journal is so handy. Thanks

It is...I believe that there are things that are pre-destined but I also believed that the free will or choices as some are comfortable with...determines how we get to it...I don't think everything is pre-decided...but if something is meant to be..Fate finds a way to push one towards it...but I don't think we are completle locked in our choices...lol..confuse you yet?? lol
I tell a lot of people I read for...just because the cards say something doesn't mean it will happen...it's like going to a bad neighborhood..you know what you are getting into..you are prepared to deal with what may happen but sometimes by making that active choice you can change the possiblites...I don't think the future is locked in stone..I think it is fluid and does changes....

Not confused at all. I believe we're here to learn, to try to better . Our lessons for each lifetime are something we predertermine in order to evolve. That's the Fate part. Free Will includes forgetting this part. Those who wish to remember will turn to the tools that will help them achieve. Be it Tarot, Runes or toothpicks. Bless you

Deana, what a profound experience! So hard for all of you, to deal with your brother's decision and the fear for him.
My interpretations had nothing to do with what the cards were saying. Sometimes we can't see what they're saying so we think they're wrong.
We get focused on a question, or our hopes, and when the cards come out of left-field, we just don't connect. But also, sometimes it's better not to know it all at once--the impact can be devastating.
I never ask a question to which I can't handle a possibly horrible answer!

I had a reading done on here once in the Reading Exchange around 2 or so years ago. I asked for a general reading but ended up getting a love/relationship one instead by mistake. I gave feedback even though I couldn't really relate to all of the cards, but it was an impressive reading. I printed the reading out and forgot all about it.
A few months ago I found the reading out and it suddenly hit me that around 4 months after this reading was done and I'd forgotten all about it - things were happening on the home front, changing -not divorce or anything like that but still to do with my marriage, home and work life.
This reading ended up being spot on. Its still the most profound reading I've ever had on here or given myself. It was only by chance that I saw the print-out and realised that this was given just before my life started to change. I wish I had half the talent that the reader who gave me this reading has.
I make sure that I keep copies of all readings recieved and given now. :)
