..has anybody tried using blank cardboard instead of cards ? I've been told a few times to do it but haven't cos I think it's impossible ! ..You know how often you can "see" a card before you cut it--well it's a progression from there I suppose.

I think I would find reading with blank cards to be impossible! If all the cards looked the same then I can imagine me struggling somewhat with interpretation. :D

Hi Mingbop
I'm not sure about this, but it would be a great if you were making a personal deck and wanted each 'tarot image' to 'present itself' onto 'which' blank card.
A nice way of making your deck but I think it would be a labour of Love :)

I agree it would have to be personal. A deck of 78 blank cards, for me anyway, would be 78 blank responses. Perhaps 78 cards with symbols of personal significance could work? Or some blank cards mixed into a regular deck to stretch your intuition?

I suppose, at least, you wouldn't have that problem that many have when they love a deck, all except just one or two cards - 'I love the Blah-blah' deck but the Knight of Cups is just not how I would visualise him'.

Just thinking ....
The cards may all be blank but you could have 78 variations of colour card. They may be interesting ...

Paint chips! Of course you would have to be a person very sensitive to the nuances of clour.

That would be my idea of a nightmare deck. I am colour-blind. I would give the worst readings no doubt.

I forgot that I have used paint chips for readings.
Some have up to 3 shades of a colour on them or contrasting colours. They present as like a blank canvas for "scrying". Possible to see images form within the colours.

What was the reading experience like? Did you find them useful?

Experiences more of a meditative state & interesting as inner level experiences.
Evolved by "accident", during use of paint chips to decide on colours for bedrooms many years ago. Though not intended for readings about my children, they seemed to relate to them. Evocative of their feelings & thoughts by process of elimination--in terms of what "felt" like a particular person; what not of same & some ensuing imagery. Main focus towards what would be compatible & healing.
On the personal level, paint chips inspire ideas & images according to their colours or shades. Similar to those either associated or evoked with colours of clothing.

It sounds like a very novel and interesting divination tool. Thanks for sharing.
