For example, I may have an impression of a situation that the querent is seeking a solution or information. I receive a thought about it and the cards seem to unfold the situation. I had this happen yesterday. I was asked about a job situation. My impression there was an indecisive boss. The card that was pulled decribing him was the Hanged Man.

Usually yes... And so i just sometimes cannot trust my cards i feel as if i'm the one controlling the cards..If i feel the situation is a "hanged man" situation, then the cards indicating the delays&indecisivness will appear in the reading most of the time.
I don't know if i am good at picking up what's going on or if the cards are affected by me..Maybe both lol

Yes ,it's getting so I think about a card and it leaps out, I think this is my influence and I am trying to keep open to all possibilities (To spirit)which is much easier when reading for someone I don't know ,but far harder with close friends .however when the cards have a very different point of view they over-ride my influence and thats what I like :)

Definitely. While it is important that I get a certain feeling about the querent, sometimes I close the reading, since I feel that it is unfair to the querent. This usually happens more often for people who I know well, rather than people with whom I am less familiar with.

Sometimes the only thing a reading with produce IS a validation of an impression, and little else. Every reading will not tell you 'earth-shattering' revelations such as which iceberg will hit the Titanic. Most readings tell you what you already suspect. Have you never had a querent say 'tell me something I don't already know' ? Sometimes your cards tell you mundane things to reiterate the fact that you are on the right track, are consistantly missing the point to something obvious, or that you already have the correct answer if front of you if you will only act upon it.

Sometimes my mouthy is running so fast, I will say something then put down cards that back it up. That is fine, it means I am OUT of control, just being a mouthpiece to the Universe. Once recently, I got an impression of where the problem was but when I said it, the querent didn't believe it. So I laid out a horoscope circle and SHOWED him exactly where the problem was: all the cards were positive except one.

I do quite a few phone readings and that usually means an appointment is made in advance.
Often I'll pick up information the day before the reading and then the cards confirm it in the reading the next day.
I actually like this.
One of my rituals before a phone or internet reading has come to be a little meditation time on the client and what they might need brought up in the reading.
Also when I read live I have had it happen the same as Ace.
I'll say something like "I feel one of your fears in leaving your job is the loss of your good friends there."
I have no idea where that is coming from because I haven't pulled a card that says that yet and then the next card out of the deck is 3 of cups RX.
So it's like a nod from Spirit that I picked up the right signal.
And I'm on the right path.
