I was wondering if anyone else feels like I do in that they prefer to do only face to face readings. Are most readings in the tarot world done by internet these days? Are there others out there like me who only like live interaction? I get the feeling around the forums that most people prefer to do readings by e-mail. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Herminia!!
I cant speak for the others but i can give you my opinion.
For me, face to face readings are the best.
I´ve a lot of more insights, when the reading is face to face.
Of course, at online readings, when you have a doubt you can ask what is borring you... but the feedback face to face reading is a lot more easy.
well, take care.

I have yet to do a face to face reading, but for me, its easier for me to come out of my shell of shyness when I'm online, and concentrate. I'm hoping to start face to face readings soon, but *shivers*....that would require me to...face people....and I'm so shy.

I personally prefer face to face because I don't always get feedback online.
E-mail readings or by PM are 50% feedback on AT in the reading exchanges I'll get better feedback.
I still learn from them and sometimes I see things in the cards that are new for me.
In those cases I just, mostly by e-mail, when somebody just says: "Your good" or something like this I wonder if It realy was spot on or not.
This can leave me with questions about if the cards where interpretated right or not.
When I do a reading it feels so personal so I realy want to do my best and learn from it.
Sometimes the best learning method is when a reading is a bit off and someone tells me.
Then I can try even harder the next time and I can figure out where I went wrong.
With face to face readings I get more feedback and I can check how the person is responding to the cards and the reading itself.
I like this but when a person is very open internet readings are fine as well.
Especially on AT because most people out here read the tarot themselves and respond more openly and can also give their opinion by experiance.
So to awnser your question, I like both but the face to face readings just a little bit more.
Love and light

I do mostly face to face. I've started the e-mail ones a few months ago. But i do prefer the feca to face ones.
It's easyer when you start to do internet readings. You can use books and your notes without the sitter in front of you making funny faces. You'll find it a lot bether with the person in front of you. Your intuition will catch energy that the sitter sends out and will help you a lot.
Hope this helps you :)
sorry about my english

I like doing phone readings, sometimes I tape them. It gives me a chance to discribe the card and that allows me to figure out what it means.
I do e-mail readings sometimes, to great success, but they can be tedious. All that typing. Also: it is tempting to go back and change the meaning I first came up with, since it doesn't make since to me later. Not a good thing to do.

I like doing readings in Yahoo messenger. I type really quickly, though. If I weren't a quick typist, I might not like it so much. I've had really good success using messenger.

I prefer face to face readings. I have done email readings but I can't type as fast as I talk and I am too tempted to go back and edit things :P . Where as when I read face to face I say my first impressions no matter how silly they sound they just kinda blurt out where as with email readings you can always delete stuff. Not very ethical IMHO. I also feel face to face readings can affect you more both as a reader and as a querent. Email does have the advantage of being able to be referred to later though.

I've done readings here, but I enjoy face to face readings a whole lot more. I think its harder for me to shuffle, and to ask a question that is not mine. For a while i didn't even do readings on the internet because i questioned their validity. I still do not like doing them on the internet, but I have grown much more accustomed. Only have done one phone reading.

I'm a perfectionist and I very easily get nervous. Go figure... Face to face readings aren't really my thing because of that. Someone asks me, I say "sure", and then it goes downhill ´cause I can't stop thinking that the reading might be inaccurate and overall bad. Online I can think about it more, and I'm comfortable in my own room in front of the computer, and can really concentrate on the querent. I just can't concentrate face to face. I used to be pretty shy so...

I also prefer doing readings face to face. I've done both, fortunately I got feedback when I was doing it through the net, but I always prefer face to face because I think the reading is more spontaneous and we can see the reaction of the person in front of you, there's an interaction.

Love Face-2-Face/Strangers, that’s Tarot Reading. It’s what we are about (in the core of our being).
It’s scary, it’s challenging.
It’s rewarding.
It fills one with grace.
It may be one of the most profound non-sexual activities you can do with another.
It’s like surfing on the leading wave of time.
It’s like being a postman for god.
It fulfills a need in and of society and civilization.
It allows you to meet new people.
It allows you to ‘help’.
When you look across the table into those eyes…

Since I started reading "professionally" face2face....I rarely do any online readings ....even here...just for "practice."
If I want "practice" I usually find a live person who wants a reading....
There's nothing like it.
The meanings I once tried to memorize don't seem so important anymore...
Sure...there's that..
But then, whole new meanings come forward...
And ,then, especially when a "doubter" comes ...
and they leave feeling they have something to hold onto...and you just know they will be back.
